In Disney Dreamlight Valley, you will often unlock new story quests as you open more biomes. The second expansion, The Storybook Vale, continues this trend. As you gradually unlock more areas, the story will unfold. While your ultimate goal is to get Maleficent and Hades on speaking terms again, there are many obstacles between you and that objective. During the story quest, A Moth to a Flame, you will have to deal with one such obstacle.

There are a few important things to know about feeding Owls in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Explore the Fiery Plains
After you've gathered 5,000 Storybook Magic, you will be able to bring down the barrier that is keeping you out of the Fiery Plains. At this point, you will start the quest A Moth To A Flame. The first thing you will want to do before you begin exploring the new area is to repair the Wishing Well so that you can fast travel here later if needed.
South of the Wishing Well, you will see another entrance to a Trial, but it is blocked off by ethereal looking flames. Take a picture of the fire and then talk to Hades. It is unclear if it is a bug, but it can take several attempts at different angles to get a picture to give you credit for this quest. If you are struggling, try angling a selfie so that you get all the flames in the picture.
Hades explains what the deal with the flames is, but he has no idea how to get rid of them. Talk to the Lorekeeper, whom will tell you she has a story that may provide information on where the Sacred Spring is. But to access it, you will need to collect the following:
- 10 Red Bird Snippets
- Five Pink Demon Snippets
- Two Blue Demon Snippets
Red Bird Snippets roam around the Library of Lore. Pink Demon Snippets can be found in Elysian Fields and the Fiery Plains while the Blue Demon Snippets are in the Fiery Plains and the Fallen Fortress. Blue Demon Snippets spawn in fewer numbers, and they take several more attempts to catch than the Pink Demon Snippets. When you manage to catch all the Snippets, head back to the Lorekeeper and select "I want to reorder stories!".

Right after you unlock Hades in Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale, you will also gain access to his first friendship quest.
How to Complete Aurora and the Sacred Spring
Once you've unlocked this story, you will need to solve a puzzle. This is a much more difficult puzzle than the one you solved in an earlier story quest, and there will be no lines to guide you on where each piece goes. The first step is to get at least three pieces onto the board in the right spots. The image above depicts a good place to start solving this puzzle.
Two of the pieces are shaped like the Royal Watering Can. Place one of them in the spot depicted above. This fills up more of the board, and makes it easier to see where certain pieces will go.
When you get all the pieces together, this is what the puzzle will look like. The solved puzzle gives you a hint on where the Sacred Spring is. Head to Elysian Fields and go the left side of the giant pool. There, you will see a bunch of pink bushes. Approach and interact with them to find the Sacred Spring. When you interact with the Sacred Spring, a small vial of water will appear on the ground. Pick it up, and then speak to Hades.
Gather Ingredients for the Potion
Unfortunately, the water from the Sacred Springs is not enough to deal with the flames. You will have to gather a few materials before you can proceed. Specifically, you must gather:
- Five Crimson Eternal Poppies
- Three Magma
- Two Hippocampus
Fortunately, if you already have some of these materials, they will count toward this quest. If you are short on any of these items, you can find it all in Mythopia. When fishing for Hippocampus, focus on fishing from white ripples. When you have all the materials, head to a crafting table and make the Watering Can Potion. Open your inventory and use the potion to upgrade your Watering Can.
With this upgrade, you will have no trouble clearing out the flames that block your path. Use the Royal Net to open the portal to the Mythic Trial. This completes A Moth To A Flame, and then the next story quest, the Promethean Flame, begins.
