Disco Elysium is a game filled with mysteries and many ways to solve them. Players step into the shoes of an amnesiac detective navigating the run down city of Martinaise with his new partner Kim Kitsuragi and solving a grisly murder. There are multiple ways to complete just about every task in Disco Elysium depending on the attributes players have chosen to put skill points into. These attributes will dramatically alter the story being told and can lead to uniquely hilarious choices for players to act out. At the beginning of the game players wake up in the Whirling in Rags. This small hotel acts as a hub for many characters throughout the story. Follow this guide to open the Mysterious Cobalt Blue Door in the kitchen of the Whirling in Rags.
Inspect the Door
After enough time has passed during Day 1 of the case, the kitchen behind the front desk will open up. Simply walk up to the door to take note of it. The main character will be unable to open it and can tell Kim that the door seems important to the case. Doing so will put Explore the Whirling's Secret Passages into the task log.
Speak to Garte
As with most discoveries made in the Whirling, it's best to ask the cafeteria manager Garte about the mysterious door. He will reveal himself to be very curious about what's behind it if pushed, but has no key to open it. This is as far as this task can go on Day 1.
Speak to the Hardies on Day 2
On day 2 of the case, the Hardies will show up in the union booth at the Whirling. Interrogating them and proving your authority to Titus is necessary to progress the case further. Doing so will also make opening the door much easier. This requires passing a level 16 authority check when speaking to Titus. Remember that stat checks don't need to be exactly leveled to the requirement. Getting closer to the level will give players a higher percentage chance to complete the check and can reroll with every new skill point put into the corresponding skill. If the authority stat is not high enough the player can go do other tasks to level it up, speak to Evrart Claire, examine the footprints at the crime scene, or find the real cause of murder while inspecting the body.
Inspect the Window behind the Hardies
The player can inspect the window behind the booth and notice something strange about it. The requirement is a level 15 perception check. If players haven't proven their authority to Titus the check will have a -12 it's not time yet modifier working against them. Either way passing this check will reveal the workshop spare key hanging in the window. The oldest Hardie will give the key to the player.
Unlock the Door
Head back to the cobalt blue door and use the workshop spare key to reveal the hidden rooms within the Whirling in Rags. Make sure to investigate every piece of evidence in these areas to complete the Explore the Whirling's Secret Passages task and acquire new, important clues pertaining to the main case.
