Persistent replayability became one of the main highlights of any game in the Diablo franchise, and Diablo Immortal spices things up with the inclusion of various limited-time Events. With the Diablo game exploring more of Sanctuary’s lore after the defeat of the Prime Evils in Diablo 2, the Hungering Moon became one of the more mysterious elements that regularly visit the game world.

Unlike other Diablo Immortal Events, the Hungering Moon occurs rather sporadically. Occurring whenever the Moon is “active,” the Hungering Moon is facilitated by an NPC of the same name, with players none the wiser regarding their true origins. In it, players do various tasks to earn Moonslivers, which can be traded in for Blessings and, eventually, Rewards.

What Is The Hungering Moon?

The Hungering Moon Event

There’s no in-game explanation as to exactly “what” the Hungering Moon signifies in Diablo Immortal, only that its NPC seems like a druid-like figure who appears during the times that the moon is extremely active and is looking for various “offerings.” There are some hints that the Hungering Moon may be the moon of Sanctuary itself made flesh, although there are no in-lore explanations as of yet.

At its core, mechanically speaking, the Hungering Moon is a limited-time event where players have to complete certain quests and missions in order to reap various bonuses, some of which may lead to more rewards by the end of the event itself.

How To Access The Hungering Moon?

Accessing the Hungering Moon through the Events

Before players look into completing the Hungering Moon Event, it may help Diablo Immortal gamers to check how they could access the Event properly in order to plan their character’s progression. Being a limited-time event, it helps to remember that the Hungering Moon isn’t a typical weekly event that players can skip out on. Here are other things players need to take note of:

  • Limited duration: Unlike other events, the Hungering Moon only lasts for a few days. In this current run, as of publishing, the Hungering Moon happens between September 9, 2022, and September 12, 2022, 3AM.
  • Limited redemptions: Players may only earn objective points and participate in challenges throughout this period. Reward redemption only lasts throughout this period as well, so players need to stay sharp.
  • Event Menu: Players can access the Hungering Moon Event by going to the main Menu and then clicking Event, and then Hungering Moon.

Moonslivers, Event Challenges

Some Challenges in the Hungering Moon Event

Unlike other Events that players can experience in Diablo Immortal, the Hungering Moon isn’t something that can be accomplished in a single run. Rather, players need to accomplish select objectives every day in order to earn a particular currency, which they could then use to redeem various prizes and bonuses. In the context of the Hungering Moon, players accomplish objectives in order to earn Moonsliver, which is said to be carved from the teeth of dead animals. Here are the Services players could do to earn them:

Rewards, Blessings

Blessings in the Hungering Moon

When players earn enough Moonsliver, they may be able to earn Blessings of the Moon by trading them in to the Hungering Moon NPC. These give players access to various items at the cost of 20 Moonsliver each. In turn, it helps for players to assess which Rewards they may hope to achieve, especially since the Legendary Item and Aspirant’s Keys can help greatly in character progression. Here are the rewards players can earn when trading in their Moonsliver:

  • 1 Random Legendary Item
  • 25 Aspirant’s Keys
  • 8 Enchanted Dust
  • 7 Enchanted Dust
  • 5 Glowing Shards
  • 65,000 Gold
  • 55,000 Gold
  • 110 Scrap Materials
  • 90 Scrap Materials

The Catch

However, players do need to take note that the game will limit players to up to seven (7) Blessing draws, meaning there’s no way for players to earn all Blessings throughout the course of the event. This is on top of the fact that there’s always a guarantee that players will get the same Blessing, on top of the probability that players won’t get the most valuable Blessings (namely, the Legendary and the Keys). Players need to take note of these variables in mind whenever they pursue the Hungering Moon Event.

The Moon’s Favor

Earning the Moons Favor

Alternatively, players may want to save up 140 Moonslivers and turn all of them at once to the Hungering Moon NPC. This would reward players with something called the Moon’s Favor, which is a set of three (3) valuable items that players can use for their game progression. When players earn the Moon’s Favor, they get the following rewards:

  • 1 Legendary Crest
  • 3 Crests
  • 25 Aspirant’s Keys
