Blizzard has changed the Diablo 4 title "Predator" to Enemy as part of the latest update, but didn't mention the tweak in the patch notes. Blizzard recently released Diablo 4 Update 1.0.4, which made a number of changes ahead of the Season 1 premiere on July 20.

Blizzard made some significant changes to Diablo 4 with the latest update. One big change was that Helltide chests started dropping Unique items, which in turn made it significantly easier for players to farm Uber Unique items. The developer was quick to disable those particular Unique items. In the meantime, Diablo 4 players may notice some changes that weren't mentioned in the patch notes at all, like Blizzard changing one of the titles in the game.

As of the latest Diablo 4 update, the Predator title is no longer in the game. Prior to the update, Diablo 4 players were able to unlock the player titles Serial and Predator by getting 25 PvP kills and completing the "Enemy of the Region" challenge. Post-update, the Predator title has been replaced by a new "Enemy" title. The change wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, and so an official reason has yet to be given, but it's fairly obvious as to why Blizzard would make such a change.

"Predator" has a certain connotation to it that Blizzard likely didn't intend. And thanks to how Diablo 4 titles can be mixed and matched, it's possible that players were coming up with potentially inappropriate combinations using "Predator." It will be interesting to see if other titles in Diablo 4 are changed, but it seems unlikely. If anything, new titles might be added to the game as Blizzard releases seasonal content and paid DLC expansions.

Titles are one way for Diablo 4 players to give their characters a custom flair, and so it makes sense that players actively seek some of them out. Many Diablo 4 players wanted to unlock "The," for example, as it fits well with a lot of the suffixes available in the game. Needless to say, Diablo 4 players shouldn't have to worry about Blizzard removing "The" from the game like it has "Predator."

Even so, there are still many changes on the way for Diablo 4. Since Diablo 4 is a live service game, fans can expect Blizzard to release updates for it on a regular basis. Sometimes these updates will make fan-requested improvements, other times they will look to make balance changes, and as evidenced by the removal of "Predator," other times still they may remove certain things from the game.

Diablo 4 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
