Summary
- Some Diablo 4 players are randomly dying at the Tree of Whispers.
- The bug could have dire implications for Diablo 4 Hardcore Mode players.
Diablo 4 players have discovered a very frustrating bug that could have some dire implications for Hardcore Mode gamers. While it doesn't seem like this Diablo 4 bug is common, it would be undeniably frustrating for any player to experience it.
Since the launch of Diablo 4, there has been no shortage of strange glitches for Blizzard to patch out. It's a big game, so it makes sense that some issues slip through the cracks. There was even one Diablo 4 bug that gave players the chance to deal absurd damage with an ability, which is an example of a glitch that can help gamers. However, every so often a bug shows up that is actually game-breaking, and that is generally when Blizzard needs to take swift action.
Diablo 4 Season 8 Could Face its Most Difficult Hurdle Yet
Diablo 4's next seasonal update sounds promising, but it will face more competition than ever before from other games in the CRPG genre.
A post shared to Reddit by user Bubbly_Sky_1753 described a strange situation in which they randomly died at Diablo 4's Tree of Whispers after leaving their game for a few moments. While this death happened at the blacksmith, another player shared a clip in the thread of the same thing happening while using the Tree of Whispers item stash. There's no apparent reason for either death, leading many in the thread to worry about going to the Tree of Whispers in the future, especially in Hardcore Mode.
Diablo 4 Players Are Randomly Dying at the Tree of Whispers
Diablo 4's Hardcore Mode is comfortably the most challenging way to experience Blizzard's action RPG. Simply put, it's a permadeath mode that deletes the character whenever they die. It's truly punishing, which is why only the best Diablo 4 players make it far in Hardcore Mode. While this bug might affect all players, it would be particularly frustrating to be randomly killed by the Tree of Whispers in Hardcore Mode and lose a character, rather than being defeated fair and square by an enemy. Some in the thread even went as far as to say it would single-handedly put them off playing Hardcore Mode until Blizzard fixes this bug.
It remains to be seen if Blizzard will fix this Tree of Whispers issue in Season 7. Diablo 4's Season 8 is still a few weeks away, so it may be addressed in that major update. Season 8 should prove to be an exciting period for the game, with huge difficulty changes on the way to make it more challenging to progress in the early-game. Diablo 4 Season 8 launches on April 29 after an initial delay from April 15.
