Blizzard's action RPG subsequently experienced problems with bugs, controversial monetization, and a community frustrated by the absence of certain features or the general direction of the game. Months later, with the release of Season 4, Diablo 4 started its comeback, revitalizing the player experience by introducing features such as a major change in itemization.

According to SteamDB, this impressive number of players was registered on October 13, a few days after the release of the Vessel of Hatred expansion. This represents a gain of 115.4% compared to September when the game had 25,799 active players. Previously, the highest number reached was 39,782 players on June 3, during the game's fourth season.
Diablo 4 Gains New Life With the Launch of Its First Expansion
Diablo 4's second milestone is that it became the second most-played game on Steam Deck between October 9-15, according to the official ranking. After Diablo 4 led until October 14, the ranking now has Metaphor: ReFantazio, the new game from the creators of Persona that was recently released, in first place. The list continues with Stardew Valley and Baldur's Gate 3 in third and fourth place after dropping, respectively, one and three places in the ranking. The top five is rounded off with Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, the newest game from Spike Chunsoft and Bandai Namco. As for the reception from users of Valve's platform, although the most recent reviews are mixed, Blizzard's game has 71% of all reviews as mostly positive.
Diablo 4's new numbers come after the release of Vessel of Hatred, the game's first expansion, which introduces a variety of new content such as new stories and the new Spiritborn class. The milestones also come after the start of the game's sixth season, which added other equally exciting content, including new dungeons like the Kurast Undercity, the Mercenary companions, new skills, and passives for Diablo 4's classes.
