Blizzard has confirmed that the next Diablo 4 Campfire Chat will take place on May 22 at 11am PT, giving fans of the game a preview of Season 9. Diablo 4 has had its ups and downs since its launch in 2023, but the action-RPG has maintained a dedicated following of players that continue to play it from one season to the next.

Diablo 4 is currently in the midst of Season 8, Belial's Return. This season has seen Belial added to the Lair Boss roster, the chance to unlock a new pet named Iris, Apparition Incursions, boss powers, the Reliquary system, a collab with Berserk, and more. Needless to say, Season 8 has proven to be incredibly busy for Diablo 4 players, but there's even more on the horizon. Diablo 4 is a live-service game, after all, and so it's necessary for Blizzard to be releasing new updates for it on a regular basis.

The event will preview the 2.3.0 PTR update for Season 9, with a focus on "the Sins of the Horadrim, Dungeon Escalation activity, balance updates, and more." The event will conclude with a Q&A session where Diablo 4 fans can ask the development team questions.

Sins of the Horadrim is the name of Diablo 4 Season 9, though not much else is known about what the new season will have to offer. Blizzard gave fans a brief teaser of what to expect from Season 9 with the Diablo 4 roadmap for 2025, and it's likely those details will be expanded on during the May 22 Campfire Chat.

Thanks to the Diablo 4 roadmap, we know that Season 9 will feature Horadric Powers with associated quests and a reputation board. It will also feature the aforementioned Dungeon Escalation activity and a new earnable pet, though what exactly that pet is remains to be seen. As far as permanent additions go, Diablo 4 Season 9 will add new Nightmare Dungeon activities for players to check out, as well as keyboard and mouse support for console players. Diablo 4 Season 9 will kick off at some point in July and last until some point in September, though specific dates have not been announced at the time of this writing.
