One way to determine the length of a season is by the Seasonal Journey objectives the game sets for players, unlocking Smoldering Ashes to give them Seasonal Blessings during the season. Another potential endpoint for the season is once players reach max Paragon Level at 300, defeat the pinnacle Lair Boss Belial, and reach the highest tier of the Pit 150, but achieving these feats is quite difficult to do in a single season unless players are very dedicated.

Optimize Build Gear
Even before players max out Diablo 4's Paragon and Pit levels, they may start to feel like they've hit a content wall and will end their season there. If players who feel like they've seen everything Season 9 has to offer want to continue pushing to reach max Paragon and Pit levels, then optimizing their build's gear may be a worthwhile activity. Finding new rune combinations, experimenting with different Tempered or Masterworked affixes, or even adding more Mythics into their build can help give players that final boost needed to max out their Paragon Level and Pit runs.
Farm For More Mythics
Even once they have the ideal gear for their build, players can still get some mileage out of farming for more Mythics. While Mythic gear doesn't carry over to a new season, players will still be able to access any they find on Diablo 4's Eternal Realm after the season is over. Seasonal Mythics remain accessible on the Seasonal Realm via the player's Stash, meaning they can access them from any character they have on the current Seasonal Realm.
Engage in PvP
An often overlooked aspect of Diablo 4 is the PvP component, but it can be a great activity for players who have experienced everything Diablo 4's PvE gameplay has to offer. To engage in PvP, players will need to head to one of Diablo 4's PvP-specific zones, dubbed Fields of Hatred on the map. Here, they can attack other players and attempt to earn Red Dust, the currency of the Fields of Hatred, which can be spent on exclusive mounts and mount armor.
Create a New Character and Play a Different Build
For Diablo 4 players who truly feel they've done everything Season 9 has to offer on one character, there is always the option to start over with a new build on a different character. With how different one build can feel from another, even within the same class, Diablo 4 Season 9 could be a completely different experience with a new character. Players can also benefit from the Mythics they've collected on one character through their Stash, since it is shared across characters on the same realm. There is also the option to try playing a Hardcore Diablo 4 character to really test a player's skills after completing Season 9 with a standard character.
Hardcore characters don't share a Stash with standard characters, even on the same Seasonal Realm. So, players hoping to use the Mythics they've collected on their standard character for their Hardcore one will be out of luck.
