As the curtain prepares to fall on Diablo 4 Season 9, players only have a limited time to experience everything the season has to offer before Infernal Chaos begins. While the majority of content in the Seasonal Realm will disappear after the season ends, there are several elements that will migrate to the Eternal Realm along with the player's Season 9 character. In order to get the most out of this migration, Diablo 4 Season 9 players will want to ensure they've ticked one seasonal box while they still can.
Of all the parts of Diablo 4 Season 9's seasonal journey, perhaps the most important comes from participating in the seasonal reputation quests. Following the season's story and unlocking any purchased reliquaries are important and worthwhile activities, but completing the quests on the reputation board can often occur without players realizing it. Given that completing the highest tier of the reputation board grants one of Diablo 4's most coveted items, players should take one final chance to check that they've reached this tier and claimed its reward before it becomes unavailable.
Diablo 4 Season 10 begins on September 23, so players will have until then to complete any Season 9 activities.
Diablo 4 Players Should Make Sure to Claim the Highest Tier Reputation Board Reward Before Season 9 Ends
Players Can Earn a Resplendent Spark From Completing Diablo 4 Season 9's Reputation Board
As players work their way up the seasonal reputation board for Diablo 4 Season 9, they will receive useful rewards geared toward seasonal progression, like materials, Unique gear, and additional Horadric Phial drops for an easier time completing the reputation board quests. However, the pinnacle reward players can earn from this task is a Resplendent Spark, which can only be obtained from a few sources in Diablo 4, including:
- Seasonal reputation board reward
- Defeating Uber Lilith for the first time each season
- Salvaging a piece of Mythic gear
What makes obtaining Resplendent Sparks so worthwhile is that they can be used to craft Diablo 4's incredibly rare Mythics. Players can spend two Resplendent Sparks to get a random Mythic from the Mythic Cache crafted at the Blacksmith, or spend two Resplendent Sparks along with 6 Legendary, 6 Rare, and 6 Magic Runes to create a specific Mythic at the Jeweler. With how hard it is to not only get a Mythic drop in the wild but also obtain the Resplendent Sparks necessary to craft one, Diablo 4 players should be jumping at any chance they can to get their hands on a Resplendent Spark.
The Horadric Knowledge needed to progress the reputation quests can be obtained from defeating enemies in Horadric Strongrooms, Elites, and Bosses. Players can also exchange Horadric Phials for Horadric Knowledge at the Horadric Focus in Cerrigar.
Resplendent Sparks Transfer to the Eternal Realm, But Only If They're Claimed Before the Season Ends
Without claiming the Resplendent Spark reward from the reputation board each season, players are essentially leaving money on the table. Even if players don't craft their Resplendent Sparks into Mythics before the season ends, they will still transfer to their Eternal Realm stash, allowing them to craft a Mythic on an Eternal Realm character. While not everyone will find value in playing on Diablo 4's Eternal Realm when the Seasonal Realm offers such unique mechanics and new content, it's still a good idea to keep Resplendent Sparks in reserve in the event a player decides to take a build for a run over there.
Transferring Resplendent Sparks over to the Eternal Realm can quickly add up for players saving up the resource to craft a Mythic. It can be incredibly difficult to defeat Uber Lilith for a guaranteed Resplendent Spark drop each season, and events that offer additional Resplendent Sparks, like March of the Goblins, are limited. Even if it's locked to the Eternal Realm, the triumph of obtaining one of Diablo 4's rarest items makes claiming the Resplendent Spark from the reputation board before Diablo 4 Season 9 ends worthwhile.
