Diablo 4's upcoming Season 6 update will be the largest yet, launching alongside the game's highly anticipated Vessel of Hatred expansion. There's been plenty of demon-slaying within Diablo 4, but thanks to seasonal content updates, players have enjoyed a continuous selection of new and exciting gameplay tweaks and updates, with Season 6 marking new territory for the game.
Players are currently engaged in Diablo 4's Season 4 content update, which changed the game in several ways. Most notably, players now have access to Diablo 4's Masterworking crafting system, which significantly changed the way affixes work. Diablo 4 was released in 2023, becoming the fourth mainline entry in Blizzard's legendary action RPG franchise. Just like previous entries, Diablo 4 gives players the tools they need to become incredibly powerful thanks to a wide range of weapons, items, and armor to collect and upgrade. Excitement continues to grow for this title, with Diablo 4's upcoming Vessel of Hatred expansion set to release on October 8. However, this expansion will also launch alongside Diablo 4's Season 6 content update.
In a recent interview with Windows Central, Blizzard producer Rod Fergusson confirmed that Season 6 of Diablo 4 will release at the same time as Vessel of Hatred. Fergusson revealed the news about this release as well as more information about Diablo 4's new Spiritborn class, and also confirmed that Season 5 of Diablo 4 will be shorter than other seasons.
Blizzard Confirms Diablo 4 Season 6 Launch
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred ushers in a new era for the game, introducing players to the Spiritborn class. This is a brand-new class for the Diablo franchise and is one of many changes included in the new expansion. Vessel of Hatred will also include new monsters, dungeons, and strongholds to conquer, as well as new storylines featuring highly detailed cutscenes, something that has become a staple within newer Diablo titles. More information about the new Nahantu region in Diablo 4 will be released on July 18, as well as a first look at gameplay with the Spiritborn class.
Excitement has remained high for Diablo 4 since it was first released, with the game undoubtedly receiving a bump in popularity due to it being available on Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service. This monthly subscription service constantly expands its library, allowing subscribers to try out a wide variety of games, ranging from AAA titles to smaller indie games. Diablo 4 was the first Diablo game to be offered on Xbox Game Pass as a result of Microsoft's multi-billion dollar acquisition of Activision Blizzard in 2023. Players will still need to purchase the Vessel of Hatred DLC for Diablo 4, but the base game can be enjoyed at any time by subscribers.
