Based on the Season 9 Reliquary countdown and yearly roadmap, Season 10 of Diablo 4 is expected to arrive on September 23. While it has yet to be made fully official, each new season of Diablo 4 tends to begin once the old one ends, making September 23 the most likely launch date, unless Blizzard plans on subverting expectations.
If that's the case, then Diablo 4 has some serious competition to go up against. September is already packed with a variety of impressive game releases, so it's far easier for a new season's launch to get lost in the sea of excitement regarding other titles, especially when Diablo 4 is two years old. New games are more likely to generate hype, and if September 23 truly is Season 10's launch, then Diablo 4 will be fighting to get out from under the shadow of Borderlands 4 and other big names.
Diablo 4's Season 10 Plans Could Quickly Be Overshadowed by Borderlands 4

Borderlands 4 will arrive a little over a week before Diablo 4's next season, and frankly, all eyes are bound to be on the former. It's been a long time since a mainline Borderlands game was released, with Borderlands 3 launching six years ago in 2019. Granted, Borderlands 4 and Diablo 4 are incredibly different experiences, but they both fall under the action RPG umbrella, so they are bound to have some overlap when it comes to players.
Borderlands 4 is one of the biggest launches set for September, but it's far from the last. Beyond a fellow action RPG title, Diablo 4 faces a month filled to the brim with highly anticipated game releases that will be hard to go up against.
The official title for Season 10 of Diablo 4 is confirmed to be "Infernal Chaos."

It's a huge month for games in September, and Diablo 4 Season 10 may just feel like a small drop in the ocean in comparison. Of course, there's no way to know for sure, but there are some serious titles lined up. Not only that, but other offerings, like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's first DLC, The Order of Giants, bring even more to the table.
Diablo 4 Already Has Plenty of Competition Ahead of Borderlands 4

So far, Titan Quest 2's early access has kicked off to an incredibly strong start. Titan Quest 2's formula is much more similar to Diablo 4's, which could grab the attention of even more players. The early access has only been live for a little over a week, but the feedback has already proven to be promising.
Right now, it's unclear how long Titan Quest 2 will remain in early access. However, according to the game's Steam page, devs expect this period to last at least a year, but it could potentially go on for longer.
With major AAA releases like Borderlands 4 on the way and direct competitors like Titan Quest 2 and Path of Exile 2 shaking up the competition even further, Diablo 4 will really have to come out swinging for Season 10 to stand out. Also, now that Diablo 4's next DLC isn't arriving until 2026, the next season has a lot of ground to cover to make sure that players continue to stay engaged while a flood of major releases continues to flow in its path.
