Summary
- Diablo 4 Season 8 brings back the Raven of the Tree, but no mention in patch notes.
- Belial's Return adds Diablo 3 boss as challenge, along with new Deadly Apparitions event.
- Season 8 sees complete overhaul of Diablo 4's battle pass system, now called Reliquary.
Diablo 4 has brought back the Raven of the Tree, making a big quality-of-life change. The feature wasn't mentioned in the patch notes for Diablo 4's eighth season, which brought several tweaks and new features to keep players engaged over the coming months.
Named Belial's Return, one of the main features of the new season is the return of Diablo 3's iconic boss as one of the challenges players will encounter in the reworked Boss Lairs. Another addition is Deadly Apparitions, a new Diablo 4 event that triggers every few minutes in the Sanctuary's wilderness, and players of any difficulty level can join. As in other seasons, a new round of balancing is available with buffs and nerfs for all classes in the action RPG. However, with the release of another Diablo 4 update, players saw a change that wasn't officially mentioned by the devs.
Other Anime Diablo 4 Should Collab with After Berserk
Blizzard's collab with Berserk generated significant interest in Diablo 4, and the developer could replicate its formula with some other anime.
Diablo 4 has brought back the Raven of the Tree permanently. Now, players will find them in every major town in the game. Blizzard acknowledges that the change was not mentioned in the most recent patch notes for Diablo 4 Season 8. However, in a post on the official forum, the developers promised to update the notes to reflect the addition of the new feature. It's important to note that although the Raven of the Tree is back, it will no longer allow players to turn in Whispers remotely, and it will no longer be available at any waypoint.
Raven of the Tree Returns to Diablo 4 With Season 8 Release
The Raven of the Tree was first seen on the PTR, and added in Season 7 of Diablo 4. The NPC appeared in the Headhunts, a type of Helltide-like zone in which players faced enemies infused with Witchcraft powers. With it, players could turn in Grim Favors remotely, without the need to return to the Tree of Whispers and continue the grind. The raven quickly became popular with players, with the community calling for the bird to return to the game in further seasons.
In addition to Raven of the Tree, another new feature available as part of season eight is the complete overhaul of Diablo 4's battle pass system. Now known as the Reliquary, players can buy this type of pass and, Call of Duty style, redeem the rewards out of order. There are four Reliquaries available, one of which is free for all players, and the others are paid, with rewards focused on weapon skins, pets and mounts, and armor skins.
