The Lunar Awakening Event is an adaptation of the Lunar New Year (a.k.a. Chinese New Year), a holiday celebrated by millions around the globe. In Diablo 4, players can use specially charged shrines to curry favor with ancestors in return for rewards, but the event is short-lived.

Where To Start The Lunar Awakening Event Questline

This Lunary Awakening questline begins in the north-western corner of Ked Bardu. To begin the event, speak to an NPC there named Ying-Yue.

How To Complete The Lunar Awakening Event Questline

Players can gain Ancestor's Favor to unlock reward tiers and advance the event questline. To earn favor, simply kill enemies while a Lunar Shrine is active. These shrines appear on the mini-map with a purple star next to them, and they take the shape of the various Lunar Cycle Animals.

In most cases, the shrine will activate as normal, allowing the player to zip around the map normally while clearing packs. However, some Lunar Shrines activate an event when clicked, similar to the Cursed Shrine Event. To receive a chest of rewards and Lunar Favor, slay 3 Miserly Spirit Elite Enemies within the time limit.

Lunar Awakening Shrines can spawn Helltides and Headhunts. Prioritizing these areas allows players to farm multiple resources at the same time.

Lunar Awakening Event Questline Bugs

A visual bug is currently occurring with the event questline. In this bug, players can speak with Ying-Yue to begin the event, but once they exit Ked Bardu, the quest becomes marked as incomplete. However, this does not interfere with players earning Ancestor's Favor, and it can be disregarded.
