In Season 2 of Diablo 4, also known as the Season of Blood, Blizzard introduced many interesting features to the game, such as Vampiric Powers, the Blood Harvest event, and 5 powerful bosses. One of these, Lord Zir, continues to be target-farmed for his unique item drops and exclusive cosmetics.

This guide will explain how to summon Lord Zir, one of the hardest endgame bosses, also known as the Dark Master. In Diablo 4, Lord Zir is the leader of a vampire cult that leads an army of Bloodseekers. He will not stop until he has taken over the entire Sanctuary, so players need to stop him. Not only do all tormented bosses have the same chance to drop Mythic Unique Items, but several new Uniques have been added to each boss' Loot Table.

How to Summon Lord Zir in Diablo 4

Since Lord Zir is an endgame boss, World Tier 4 will be required to defeat him. To summon him, players need Exquisite Blood, which can be obtained from Legion Events and World Bosses as well as Helltide Bosses. These events are marked on the game map, so it won't be a problem to find them. Helltides and Legion Events are the fastest way to farm Exquisite Blood, so players should focus their attention there.

Below is the list of some common Legion event locations:

  • Carrowcrest Ruins in Scosglen
  • Crusader's Monument and Norgoi Vigil in Hawezar
  • Dilapidated Aqueducts in Kehjistan
  • Haunted Wreckage on the coast of the Dry steppes
  • Kor Dragan in Fractured Peaks

Once players collect 9 Exquisite Blood, they can:

  1. Go to the Darkened Way in Kyovoshad
  2. Interact with the Altar found inside
  3. Sacrifice the farmed Materials to summon Lord Zir.

Keep in mind that this boss can be summoned many times, but players will need to spend the same amount of Exquisite Blood to do so each time; therefore, it makes sense to save it up for future summons.

How To Summon Tormented Lord Zir

To summon the Tormented version of Lord Zir, players will need three times the normal amount of Exquisite Blood (21) and a Stygian Stone. Then, this is taken to the same altar in the darkened way, where it can be sacrificed in the second tab of the pop-up window. The resulting spawn is a level 200 version of Lord Zir, capable of dropping Mythic Unique Gear.
