So, the Son of Malphas Boss is like Schrödinger's cat in Sanctuary. Simply put, he can spawn randomly in any of the Vaults. In addition, he may appear in locations with concentrations of Constructs. So the only way to find the Son of Malphas Boss in Diablo 4 is to search every inch of the Vaults until he finds you.

This makes farming him much more difficult. Plus, in the worst possible case, you will be facing both Son of Malphas and Butcher Bosses at the same time. In such a situation, you better have a party of several players; otherwise, it will be a very hard battle.

How To Beat the Son of Malphas

Even though you don't know exactly when the Son of Malphas will spawn in front of you, you should prepare for this battle as best you can. It's important to note that if you die or leave the dungeon without killing this Boss, it will simply disappear, and you will lose your chance to get Igneous Cores.

Like the Butcher, the Son of Malphas has a huge pool of health and powerful attacks. You better dodge them, or you will die after a few hits.

Club Smash - The Boss slams his club onto the ground in front of him several times. To avoid this, dodge to the side.
Club Swing - The Boss swings his club left and right. Try to move away from him during this attack or go behind him.
Club Swing with Fireballs - The Boss will also swing a club but in addition release fireballs in an arc. You need to stand behind the Son of Malphas before he shoots fireballs. Alternatively, you can try to move between the projectiles, but this is quite hard.
Jump attack - The Boss will jump and slam into the ground. Just avoid the marker that shows where the Boss lands.

Now that you know his attack pattern, you can defeat the Boss. Of course, this will still be a pretty challenging battle since Son of Malphas does a ton of damage. Therefore, the best tactic is to deal damage in the windows between his attacks. And once you try it a few times, you will be able to fight him even solo without any problems.
