How to Get Shard of Verathiel Unique in Diablo 4

Since it is a newly introduced Unique weapon in the Season of the Infernal Hordes, the best way to farm the Shard of Verathiel Unique sword in Diablo 4 is to complete the Infernal Hordes activity and open Spoils of War chests – more specifically, Spoils of Equipment chests – since they have an increased chance to drop it.

Players will have to complete the seasonal quests leading up to the Infernal Hordes, get an Infernal Compass, and then defeat all the waves of enemies that will attempt to take your life. Powerful enemies and Infernal Horde events – Aether Events – will reward you with Burning Aether. This is an Infernal Horde-exclusive currency you will then spend on opening Spoils of War chests after defeating the Fell Council – three different randomized bosses who appear at the end of the activity.

Spoils of Equipment and Spoils of Greater Equipment – only available after using Tier 3+ Infernal Compasses – will grant Legendary, Unique, and Mythic Unique items by spending 20 and 60 Burning Aether, respectively. The difference lies in that the Spoils of Greater Equipment will guarantee Greater Affixes rolls. This means that if you get the Shard of Verathiel Unique sword, one to three of its affixes will be significantly augmented, to your build's delight and your enemy's dismay.

Alternatively, you can follow classic methods of farming Unique items in Diablo 4 to get the Shard of Verathiel Unique sword. While the drop chance is lower, you can opt to face World Bosses, Gathering Legions, and Nightmare Dungeons or rely on opening chests in World Tier 3 and 4.

If you find the Shard of Verathiel Unique sword by following any of the methods described above, be sure to make the best out of its Unique effect: each of your Basic Skills will deal [100 - 300]%[x] increased damage, but each of them will also cost 25 points of your Primary Resource – Fury for Barbarians, Spirit for Druids, Energy for Rogues, Mana for Sorcerers, and Essence for Necromancer. Additionally, here are all the Affixes the Shard of Verathiel possesses, so take them into account when crafting your perfect character build in Diablo 4:
