Some Diablo 4 Hardcore Players Missing from Lilith Statue…

Diablo 4 recently revealed that many of the players who had been left off the list of Hardcore Heroes to be added to the Lilith Statue were done so intentionally due to bad behavior. Though some of these Diablo 4 players were erroneously excluded, the majority of them were disqualified due to previous disciplinary actions against their accounts.

Recently, Diablo 4 revealed the final list of players whose names would be immortalized on the Lilith statue located on the Blizzard campus for reaching level 100 on a Hardcore character. However, several players who met the Hardcore level goal were remiss to find their names were not on Diablo 4’s list.

On Diablo 4’s official Twitter post revealing the final list of names, many of these fans questioned why their accounts were missing, only for Diablo 4 to reveal it had done so intentionally. Diablo 4 global community development director Adam Fletcher responded to many of these players, explaining that their account had been disciplined in Diablo 4 or previous Diablo titles, disqualifying them from the contest–a caveat found in the fine print of the original Hardcore contest rules.

Many Diablo 4 players are glad to see Blizzard do its due diligence in policing these players and forbidding them from the accolade. ARPGs have plenty of players who use exploits to get a leg up on others–Diablo 4 even recently banned thousands of players for that exact reason. Almost everyone was happy to see Fletcher put his foot down and tell these players why they were left off the list.

That said, some players have actually been excluded from the list erroneously. Diablo 4 fan DJMontague qualified for the contest, but he was excluded due to his Diablo Immortal account being closed due to “inappropriate actions” at a time when he was not even playing the mobile game. Luckily, Fletcher reached out to him, and they were able to rectify the citation. DJMontague, along with several other Hardcore players with edge cases like his, will be added to the Diablo 4 Lilith statue later.

Though the Hardcore Heroes race to 100 contest is over, Diablo 4 is just getting started. Its inaugural Season of the Malignant is well underway, featuring new twists to experience, monsters to fight, and items to collect. The game has received some heavy criticism over some of the changes it has made for Season 1, so hopefully, Blizzard can learn from its mistakes and improve future updates before it further impacts Diablo 4's popularity.
