The Diablo franchise isn't necessarily in the best place right now. Diablo Immortal has been downloaded over 10 million times merely days after its launch, but it's also been hugely controversial thanks to its microtransactions and aggressive monetization. Diablo fans are left worrying that the upcoming Diablo 4 will have similar issues. That remains to be seen, but now fans at least have a better idea of when they will get to play the game.
Diablo 4 received a stunning new trailer at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase that confirmed the game's final playable class. The chilling trailer shows a Necromancer stalking through the forest, encountering various monsters and resurrecting the dead to do her bidding. The CG trailer gives fans a pretty good idea of what to expect from Diablo 4's Necromancer, though they'll have to wait until next year to try the class for themselves.
It was also confirmed during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase that Diablo 4 is launching in 2023. A more specific release date was not made available at the time of this writing, but all the games in the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase are supposed to release within the next 12 months. So by this time next year, fans should have Diablo 4 in their hands.

After revealing the Necromancer class for Diablo 4, the developers shared more specific details about what fans can expect from the gameplay. The developers hit on some of their favorite features that will be in Diablo 4 at launch, including couch co-op support, a large open world to explore, events that players will be able to tackle with other players, and a lot more.
Diablo 4's endgame content was also touched on in the presentation, giving fans an idea of what to expect when they manage to beat the main story. There will be certain dungeons in Diablo 4 that will only be available to players once they've managed to defeat Lilith and wrap up the story, plus certain items that can only be obtained in the endgame as well. More specifics on all that will have to wait for a later date, though the Diablo 4 release date has at least been narrowed down to sometime within the next 12 months.
Hopefully Diablo fans don't have to wait too much longer to learn the definitive Diablo 4 release date so they know exactly when they can experience the game for themselves.
