The developers of Diablo 4 have announced a list of major changes coming to the game during the latest Campfire Chat. On paper, some of the changes seem significant, but Diablo 4 fans have learned from previous patches to wait until the game gets updated to get excited.

Diablo 4 is a live-service game that Blizzard Entertainment wants people to play for years after its launch. In order to pull that off, the game has to continuously receive updates that improve the experience for fans. Diablo 4’s most recent update was considered a misstep by many in the player base, as it nerfed all available classes and made certain abilities harder to use. The newest details for the game seem to have addressed these concerns and many other issues.

During the newest fireside chat for the game, the developers of Diablo 4 mentioned future buffs for the Sorcerer and Barbarian classes within the “next few weeks.” When it comes to Helltides and Nightmare Dungeons, there will be major increases in the number of mobs. The developers also wish to encourage players to try out new builds by lowering the cost of changing out skills. There were also talks of potential “build load-outs,” but there are no promises yet.

The developers also bring attention to a complaint that fans have had since the launch of the game, stating that leveling characters between 50 to 100 for Diablo 4 will feel less like a chore and that there will be more variety when it comes to endgame content. When it comes to Uber Unique items in the game, there will be more opportunities to obtain them, and the drop rate will improve slightly over time. Also, loot goblins will drop more Legendary items, and there may be different types of loot goblins down the line.

The developers also mentioned a few upcoming changes for season 2 of Diablo 4 as well, including an addition stash tab, with a dedicated tab for gems. Elixirs will have a 99 stack size limit, the damage reduction system will have a whole new feel in season 2, and there will be more options when it comes to modifying the player’s gear. The developers also teased that there will be a way to find an exact unique item or legendary aspect that the player might need in season 2.

Despite the fact that many of these changes address complaints that stem back to the game’s launch, Diablo 4 fans still seem skeptical. For Blizzard’s sake, these upcoming changes will need to increase morale for the fanbase, or Diablo 4 will become just another live service game to lose its audience.
