Spiritborn offers easy leveling and huge endgame potential, outpacing other classes for season 6 in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4's Vessel of Hatred expansion brings with it a new season, and thus a whole host of class balance changes. As well as adding the new Spiritborn class, which is quickly becoming the new meta, Blizzard has made changes to some underperforming classes, abilities, and gear.
This means there are all kinds of new viable endgame builds to experiment with. It also means that the best class argument has been shaken up, and any previous class tier lists are going to need a rethink. For those wondering which class to pick first for season 6, these are the best-performing options right now.
Updated January 30, 2025 by Dom O'Leary:Diablo 4's Season 7 arrived on the 21st of January, and with it came many changes to skills and uniques for every class. New builds have emerged as favorites, and the new Witchcraft powers add new ways to increase a build's effectiveness. This topic has been updated with the new strongest or most improved builds for each class in the new season.

The Sorcerer remains at the bottom of the pile for potential max damage output in season 7, but they do have a new build that is more than capable of clearing pit level 100, thanks to the changes made to Ball Lightning. The new unique focus, Okun's Catalyst, is a key item for this build, and assembling the full build has some pretty heavy gear requirements, which means it's not really usable until the end game. With that caveat, it's a fun Sorcerer build that allows for moving while spam-casting Ball Lightning to clear rooms full of enemies.

Sorcerers definitely benefited least from the Vessel of Hatred patch, but their primary build options remain similar and are still effective. Leveling is relatively straightforward, but players will need to hit more specific gear requirements and focused builds to challenge the endgame bosses and The Pit.

The new Cataclysm Druid meta that has emerged in season 7 is proving to be one of the strongest builds in class for the new season. The build relies on "snapshotting" a lot of damage bonuses into a Cataclysm cast, then maintaining those bonuses by lowering the cooldown of the ultimate skill to the point where it can be re-triggered before the cooldown ends. This build causes screen-wide lightning bolts with guaranteed critical overpower damage, clearing even tougher pit levels with little effort.

Best Mercenary: Varyana
Druids have seen some skill adjustments via the DLC patch, with Stone Burst becoming a nice viable ability to main while leveling. Companions have also seen some general buffs in the most recent patches, which makes endgame builds focused on Wolves a strong choice.
The new end-game build that has Barbarian players excited in season 7 is an Earthquake build that doesn't even need to spec into the Earthquake skill. Instead, the skill is triggered repeatedly by the combination of the Igni and Tec runes, leaving players free to boost other skills and passives to complement the build. That means that players can use Wrath of the Berserker and the big berskering damage bonuses available to the Barbarian to scale more damage out of the build.

The meta around the Barbarian hasn't changed much, but its balance of survivability and damage makes it a good choice for newcomers. Using Leap for mobility and Charge for breaking crowd control effects are still strong options in any build, and Berserking is still the best way to augment most Barbarian builds.

The Necromancer's Blood Wave ultimate skill got a significant buff in season 7, both with direct adjustments to the skill and with the addition of Kessime's Legacy, a unique item that changes the function and increases the power of Blood Wave. This build is mostly about increasing the power, and reducing the cooldown of Blood Wave, allowing the ultimate ability to be cast repeatedly like a regular attack spell. The build also sacrifices all minions to increase the Necromancer's raw power.

Necromancer is a great class for some top-tier builds in season 6. Minions have received several buffs, and a focused minion build is now fully capable of taking on the Diablo 4 endgame. Un-updated but strong abilities like Blood Lance and Bone Spear remain fully viable, too, and Blood Surge builds remain the best way to quickly climb to Level 50.

Season 7 seems to have focused a lot of the skill reworking around ultimate skills, and the Rogue benefits with new synergies for Rain of Arrows, making it a screen-clearing ultimate skill with a relatively short cooldown once players have the right gear setup. The other skills here are focused on crowd-controlling enemies and applying multiplicative buffs to Rain of Arrows' damage. Word of Hakan gives Rain of Arrows benefits from Imbuement skills but players will need to invest in the skills' passive modifiers in the skill tree to get the multiplicative damage buffs.

Season 5 led to some incredibly strong Rogue builds, and that's only been enhanced in season 6. Whether players want to get up close and personal with Flurry or spin-to-win at range with Dance of Knives, the Rogue is a great choice that provides solid damage output, heavy crits, and near-infinite CC.
Suggested Witchcraft Powers: Breath of the Coven, Vengeful Spirit
The improvements to Razor Wings for the Spiritborn aren't enough to elevate into the top tier of end-game clearing Spiritborn builds, but the skill is now at least usable as a main damage ability at end-game levels. That means that Razor Wings is the most improved build for Spiritborn, but unlike other classes, previously popular builds like Quill Volley haven't been eclipsed by the improvements. This build allows players to maintain Razor Wings with maximum projectiles, with excellent survivability if not mind-blowing damage.

Spiritborn is the newest class added to Diablo 4 and, as one might expect, the class had been balanced towards the game's new difficulty modes and tuned in favor of the players jumping in with Vessel of Hatred. They are a potent starting class that's easy to level without specific gear, and their end-game damage potential is huge. They're currently outpacing all the other classes in terms of viable endgame builds for season 6.
