Dexter: Resurrection's full trailer has been released, and it gives fans their first proper look at the serial killer with a code in action, as he comes up against a string of mysterious villains, including Lady Vengeance (Krysten Ritter), The Tattoo Collector (Neil Patrick Harris), Rapunzel (Eric Stonestreet) and The Gemini Killer (David Dastmalcian), who have been summoned for a meeting in New York by mysterious billionaire, Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage) and his head of security, Charley (Uma Thurman).
Fans gathered at CCXP Mexico for an entertaining Dexter panel which revealed the official trailer for the new spin-off series. The full two-minute trailer for Dexter: Resurrection shows Michael C. Hall's serial murderer with a code recovering from his gunshot wound to the chest in hospital, when his old Miami Metro friend, Angel Batista, visits him, and begins quizzing him about Angela Bishop's accusations that he is the Bay Harbor Butcher. Clearly not in the mood for a discussion, Dexter flees and heads to New York City.
Only in New York
Fans also got their first glimpse of Harrison Morgan, who appears to be discovering his own dark passenger in the Big Apple, when Batista pays him a visit. Dexter's Ghost, Harry Morgan also features, with Dexter clearly needing the guidance of the code in his future endeavors.
The synopsis reads:
Resurrection takes place weeks after Dexter Morgan (Hall) takes a bullet to the chest from his own son, as he awakens from a coma to find Harrison (Jack Alcott) gone without a trace. Realizing the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City, determined to find him and make things right. But closure won’t come easy. When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast. As father and son navigate their own darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined – and that the only way out is together.
Dexter: Resurrection will stream on Paramount + with Showtime, with the first two episodes premiering on July 11, before the rest of the season rolls out on a weekly basis.
