It's Friday once again which means that the exotic merchant known as Xur has finally returned for a limited time to Destiny 2. Since the start of the Forsaken expansion, Xur has gone back into hiding, forcing players to locate him somewhere in the game world to discover what sort of exotic items and randomized perks the merchant has brought with him.
While most players have already found most of what Xur brings with him, new information regarding the quickly approaching Season of the Drifter may have given players a bit of hope for the Agent of the Nine's future. Thanks to the renamed Invitations of the Nine, guardians will need to stop by Xur each week to collect new bounties that open up paths to new lore and powerful rewards. Thankfully, the added spotlight on Xur has also recently confirmed that the merchant will begin selling Forsaken exotics now and again once the seasonal update arrives.
Until Joker's Wild officially begins, here's where guardians can find Xur as well as what he has brought to sell for the weekend of March 1, 2019:
Where is Xur?
Players can find Xur on Nessus in the big tree within Watcher's Grave.
Simply fast travel there, then follow the road to the right all the way until a massive tree can be seen on the left side of the zone. Xur can be found standing on one of the massive branches.
Class Armor
This weekend, Xur has brought 2 pieces of armor from the base version of Destiny 2 as well as an item first introduced inside of the Warmind campaign for Warlocks.
Claws of Ahamkara - Warlock gauntlet
The Claws of Ahamkara, melee focuses exotic armor, is back on sale for Warlocks this weekend. Its intrinsic perk is called The Whispers, and it grants one extra melee charge that players can utilize.
It may not be the best exotic out there, so it likely won’t replace some of the better Warlock gear currently available in the game, but having an extra melee charge is never a bad thing for most game modes especially in the Crucible.
Gear Rolls:
- Mobility OR Resilience
- Fusion Rifle Loader, Hand Cannon Loader, Impact Induction
- Sniper Rifle Scavenger OR Machine Gun Reserves
Knucklehead Radar - Hunter helmet
Like the other exotics on this list, the Knucklehead Radar is an item that can be used in conjunction with any Hunter subclass. It’s a useful, yet unexciting gear piece that enhances the player’s radar when crouched and keeps it on the screen when aiming down the sights.
This helm is easily outclassed by other Hunter exotics but is definitely useful in certain situations and game modes like the Crucible. Knowing where enemies are coming from even when aiming down the sights really comes in handy. This helm is worth the asking price for those that don’t already own it.
Gear Rolls:
- Resilience OR Recovery
- Fusion Rifle Targeting, Hand Cannon Targeting, Hands-On
- Sniper Rifle Reserves OR Machine Gun Scavenger
Peacekeepers - Titan boots
Finally, for Titan players this week are the Peacekeeper boots, an exotic gear piece that synergizes with SMG weapons like the Riskrunner or Huckleberry. The exotic perk Mecha Holster auto reloads holstered SMG weapons and allows players to ready them instantly.
These are a tough sell considering how dependent the boots are on SMGs, a weapon type which doesn't get a ton of play. Still, they may be worth another look this week, especially with a new Crucible pinnacle weapon known as The Recluse coming at the start of next season.
Fixed Gear Rolls:
- Mobility OR Recovery
- Hand Cannon Dexterity, Fusion Rifle Dexterity, Outreach
- Scout Rifle Scavenger OR Special Ammo Finder
Exotic Weapon
It's been a while but the unique exotic grenade launcher, The Colony, is available for purchase at Xur this weekend. Thanks to its exotic perk, Insectoid Robot Grenades, the weapon fires grenades that are actually insectoid robots. Once fired, these devices chase enemy targets and explode at close range. As if that isn’t enough, when holstered, the gun refills its magazine as well.
While most grenade launchers aren't a go-to choice, The Colony remains one of the best picks in this weapon class thanks to the tracking explosives. While it's likely a weapon that most players have at this point, The Colony is an easy recommendation for those who don't.
Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock for March 1:
- Claws of Ahamkara (Warlock gauntlet) – 23 Legendary Shards
- Knucklehead Radar (Hunter helmet) – 23 Legendary Shards
- Peacekeepers (Titan boots) – 23 Legendary Shards
- The Colony (Grenade Laucher) – 29 Legendary Shards
- Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
- Five of Swords Challenge Card
Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
