Friday has come back once more and as most Destiny 2 fans know that means it's time for Xur's weekly visit. Following the launch of the Forsaken expansion, Xur went back to his old ways of hiding somewhere in the world, prompting players to hunt his usual spots in an effort to find what he's brought with him to sell for the next few days. As expected, the exotic merchant continues to sell year one exotics with semi-randomized rolls.
However, many fans continue to hold out hope that Forsaken exotics will finally get added to the loot pool when the Season of the Drifter kicks off sometime in March. Until that time, Xur has once again brought his usual inventory of three armor pieces and one weapon. Here's where players can find the merchant as well as what he's offering in Destiny 2 for the weekend of February 1, 2019:
Where is Xur?
Starting today, players can check in with the Agent of the Nine on his usual cliff in the Winding Cove of the European Dead Zone.
Select Earth from the Director menu and fast travel down to the Winding Cove. After loading in, start running towards the other end of the zone on the upper levels where the Fallen patrol. Xur is located on a small cliff right next to a Fallen ship.
Class Armor
This weekend, Xur has brought only one exotic from the Warmind expansion with the other two from the base version of Destiny 2.
Claws of Ahamkara - Warlock gauntlets
warlocks can pick up the Claws of Ahamkara this week, a melee-focused and subclass neutral exotic. Its intrinsic perk is called The Whispers, and it grants one extra melee charge that players can utilize.
It may not be the best exotic out there, so it likely won't replace some of the better Warlock gear, but having an extra melee charge is never a bad thing especially in the Crucible.
Gear Rolls:
- Mobility OR Recovery
- Fusion Rifle Loader, Hand Cannon Loader, Impact Induction
- Sniper Rifle Scavenger OR Machine Gun Scavenger
St0mp-EE5 - Hunter boots
Last week had the "Frosties" and this week Hunters can pick up the "Stompies." The Hunter boots known as St0mp-EE5, are a movement enhancer exotic and won't have any impact on combat capabilities. Thanks to its intrinsic perk, Hydraulic Boosters, players have increased sprint speed and slide distance. Not only that, this exotic further improves High Jump, Strafe Jump, and Triple Jump.
While not particularly valuable for combat, these boots really shine when players need to overcome tricky platforming sections like the beginning section of The Whisper quest. It's a situational exotic this week, but one that certainly has value and is worth picking up for those who don't have them.
Gear Rolls:
- Resilience OR Mobility
- Fusion Rifle Dexterity, Hand Cannon Dexterity, Outreach
- Scout Rifle Scavenger OR Special Ammo Finder
An Insurmountable Skullfort - Titan helmet
If there's one thing that Titans do best, it's punching things. An Insurmountable Skullfort is a perfect compliment to players who favor close quarters. Transfusion Matrix is its intrinsic perk which triggers health regeneration and restores melee energy after getting a kill with an arc melee ability.
With the added boost to Shoulder Charge a few months ago, this item became even stronger and can give the user nearly unlimited melee attacks under the right conditions. It’s a wonderful PvE item and equally as strong in PvP for Earthshaker or Missle Striker Titans.
Fixed Gear Rolls:
- Mobility OR Recovery
- Fusion Rifle Targeting, Hand Cannon Targeting, Hands-On
- Sniper Rifle Reserves OR Machine Gun Reserves
Exotic Weapon
The Huckleberry is the featured exotic weapon this week and it's one that can produce high damage very quickly. Ride the Bull is its intrinsic perk which gives the weapon increased rate of fire and recoil while the trigger is held. Any kills with the weapon reload a portion of the magazine as well. The weapon also comes with rampage, which gives it increased damage (holding up to 3 stacks) after a kill, and Ricochet Rounds which causes bullets to bounce and redirect off hard surfaces.
Submachine guns aren't for everyone, but this weapon is certainly fun especially when getting in close on enemies. Due to its chaotic nature, it may not be suited to the Crucible, which typically favors precision, but it's great at clearing out large groups of enemies on PvE style modes like Gambit.
Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock for Feb 1:
- An Insurmountable Skullfort (Titan helmet) – 23 Legendary Shards
- St0mp-EE5 (Hunter boots) – 23 Legendary Shards
- Claws of Ahamkara (Warlock gauntlets) – 23 Legendary Shards
