Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. More big changes are on the way for Destiny 2, this time much sooner than expected. Bungie revealed this week that exotic gear focusing at Rahool is going to be slightly less resource heavy as the studio hopes more players will be able to interact with it. Previously, the overall Ascendant Shard cost was proving to be a barrier for anyone that wasn't putting in hours and hours each week, so Rahool's prices are getting cut.

Season of the Witch's storyline also came to an end this week and while many have enjoyed the ride to this point, most players felt as though Bungie dropped the ball with the conclusion. As it turns out, Season of the Witch kept an important story moment offscreen, stuck inside the lore tab of the Rites of Passage, something which many players are likely going to overlook. While many would have preferred to see this incorporated into a cutscene, this isn't the first time big Destiny events have happened off-screen.

In the meantime, the exotic merchant Xur is making his usual appearance inside Destiny 2 over the next few days. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of October 6, 2023.

Where is Xur?

Over the next few days, Destiny 2 players should head to the Tower Hangar.

Fast travel to the main Tower location and head left into the Hangar. Once there, take another left and move past the Dead Orbit section to find a metal staircase. Move up the stairs to find Xur on a platform overlooking the mountain range off in the distance.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Perk:

Chaotic Exchanger - Resist incoming damage while charging a Void grenade. Charged Void grenades return grenade energy on a hit.

Not an exotic for everyone, this one really excels for Voidwalker Warlocks that like to charge their grenades. The roll is also extremely high and has solid distribution, so it may be worth a look as well.

Destiny 2 Sixth Coyote Exotic Chest Piece For Hunters

The Sixth Coyote - Hunter chest armor

Exotic Perk:

Double Dodge - Gain a second dodge charge.

While not flashy or really exotic, The Sixth Coyote is a solid and useful utility item that gives players a second dodge to either escape a tough situation or to help reload weapons (depending on which dodge is equipped). However, at a 68 overall, this is worth a pickup even if the exotic gear itself is pretty straightforward. Better yet, the stats are well distributed and fairly even as there isn't anything overly high or extremely low.

Actium War Rig - Titan chest armor

Exotic Perk:

Auto-Loading Link - Steadily reloads a portion of your equipped Auto Rifle's or Machine Gun's magazine from reserves. Provides a moderate benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of Auto Rifles and Machine Guns.

Another useful exotic that isn't likely going to upend the current meta, the Actium War Rig pairs very well with many top end Auto Rifle and Machine Gun weapons. The roll on this gear is also outrageously high and is worth buying for that fact alone. One other thing to note is that this item pairs very well with the exotic weapon on offer this weekend...

Exotic Weapon

The unique firing SUROS Regime auto rifle is back with Xur this weekend. It comes with the perk is SUROS Legacy, which gives half of the current ammo magazine bonus damage as well as giving a chance to regenerate health after a kill. However, the gun features a second perk that lets players pick what kind of weapon they want to use. Spinning Up increases the rate of fire when the trigger is held down. On the other hand, Dual Speed Receiver slows down the rate of fire and increases the damage when the player aims down the sights.

Overall, it's worth a pickup this weekend as it's a reliable and solid weapon. Titan players should definitely grab this along with their exotic armor from Xur for best results.
