Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Alongside the final week of Festival of the Lost, it's been a tough week for fans of Destiny 2. Reports broke earlier in the week regarding layoffs at Bungie, with some longstanding employees like Lorraine McLees, Michael Salvatori, and others having been let go. Bungie did acknowledge the layoffs in its weekly address to the community, but didn't go into too many details.
On top of all that, rumors have been circulating that The Final Shape expansion for Destiny 2 has been delayed by four months with Bungie's next title Marathon also getting pushed into 2025. While Bungie has not confirmed or denied the rumors for either game, Destiny 2 fans are now worried that the upcoming season is now getting extended beyond the normal scope and that Bungie will not have any meaningful content ready to fill the time as it was able to with the 30th Anniversary content prior to The Witch Queen expansion.
Destiny 2 Players Are Refunding The Final Shape Preorders
After the recent revelations about Bungie, Destiny 2 players are canceling their preorders of the Final Shape expansion in protest.
For now, Xur is back again with a whole selection of exotics and legendaries for Destiny 2 players over the next few days. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of November 3, 2023.
Where is Xur?
This weekend, players can head to the EDZ to find the merchant on the cliff overlooking the Winding Cove.
Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Exotic Armor
Transversive Steps - Warlock leg armor
Exotic Perk:
Strange Protractor - Sprint speed increased. After a short time sprinting, your currently equipped weapon is automatically reloaded.
Not an overly exciting exotic, the Steps boost sprint speed and auto reloads the currently equipped weapon after sprinting for a short time. Considering the stat value is just okay and that these are not top tier exotics, they can be safely skipped.

Mechaneer's Tricksleeves - Hunter gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
Spring-Loaded Mounting - Increases Sidearm airborne effectiveness, ready speed, and reload speed. While critically wounded, swapping to a Sidearm reloads it and increases its damage. While this effect is active, Sidearm final blows reload the weapon and extend the effect's duration.
While the Tricksleeves normally wouldn't be an automatic purchase, the roll is extremely high on them at a 67 overall and Bungie is planning to rework them in the near future. As such, Hunters may want to grab these this weekend and stash them for the future.

Wormgod Caress - Titan gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
Burning Fists - Melee kills increase melee damage for a period of time. Additional kills extend duration and increase effects.
At one point these exotics were at the center of a player-favored glitch which essentially allowed Titans to melt bosses using overpowered melee damage. Over the past few years, these exotics have been disabled and adjusted numerous times, making them no where near as powerful or valuable as they once were.

Exotic Weapon
After just being on sale only recently, Arbalest is back in stock for this weekend. A kinetic linear fusion rifle that was introduced during the Revelry event in 2019, Arbalest called Compounding Force that makes the weapon fire slugs that cause massive damage to enemies that are protected by an elemental shield. Paired with that is the Legendary trait Disruption Break which temporarily makes enemies more vulnerable to kinetic damage when an elemental shield is broken.
As always, Arbalest is a great choice to pierce Barrier champions without relying on mods from the seasonal artifact.

Hawkmoon Rolls
At this point, Xur is only selling Hawkmoon with randomized rolls, but its time is limited once Harbinger is ultimately added to the Exotic Mission Rotator and makes the hand cannon craftable. Either way, here is the roll Xur has this weekend:
