Destiny 2: Xur Exotic Armor, Weapon, and Recommendations…

Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Season of the Deep has officially arrived and so to is the latest dungeon. Destiny 2 Season 21 has introduced Ghosts of the Deep, a dungeon which takes place under the Methane Ocean on Titan to where Xivu Arath's forces have been lying in wait. The location also seems to be infested with Lucent Hive lightbearers.

In addition to taking the fight to the Hive God of War, players have also seemingly taken to Destiny 2's latest pastime of fishing. While the experience isn't perfect, fans have seemingly enjoyed taking a break from the action to partake in a more relaxing pastime where catching a variety of fish can lead to some interesting rewards.

In the meantime, the weekend merchant Xur has made a return to the world of Destiny 2. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of May 26, 2023.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur can be found at the Twoer Hangar.

From the default landing zone, immediately head to the left and following the path down into the Hangar. After entering the hangar, head left again past Arach Jalaal and his Dead Orbit crew and up a metal staircase. Xur is standing on a metal platform at the back of this room overlooking the mountain ranges below.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor

Eye of Another World - Warlock helmet

Exotic Perk:

Cerebral Uplink - Highlights priority targets and improves the regeneration speed of player grenade, melee, and Rift abilities. Provides a small and passive benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.

Overall, it's a decent option for PvE or PvP. When using mods that target regeneration rates, this exotic can help players get their abilities much faster than normal. It's not a must-have item, but it can be a decent choice. The stat roll is certainly better than normal, so collectors may want to snag this item just to replace a worse roll.

Lucky Pants - Hunter leg armor

Exotic Perk:

Illegally Modded Holster - When readying a fully loaded Hand Cannon that deals Kinetic damage or a damage type that matches the player subclass energy type, each hit from that Hand Cannon increases the damage of the next shot for a short time against a combatant. Hand Cannons ready faster and are more accurate immediately after swapping to them. Provides a small benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of Hand Cannons while the buff is active.

For Hunter players who enjoy using hand cannons, these are a no-brainer purchase this week, especially with a solid stat roll like this one. Obviously, for players that aren't using hand cannons, these are effectively useless so buyer beware.

Armamentarium - Titan leg armor

And Another Thing - Gain an additional grenade charge.

Finally, Titan players have an exotic item with Xur that isn't heavy on mobility. Having an additional grenade charge is very useful and with a high stat roll, this is a solid pickup even if the strength stat is extremely low.

Exotic Weapon

It's been a while but the Arbalest is now in stock with Xur. A kinetic linear fusion rifle that was introduced during the Revelry event in 2019, Arbalest called Compounding Force that makes the weapon fire slugs that cause massive damage to enemies that are protected by an elemental shield. Paired with that is the Legendary trait Disruption Break which temporarily makes enemies more vulnerable to kinetic damage when an elemental shield is broken. It's also automatically a great choice to pierce Barrier champions without having to apply a mod.

Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale Rolls

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he'll be carrying different rolls.
