Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. This week, Bungie gave players plenty of new information in advance of The FInal Shape. One of the biggest questions from players is what sort of buffs and nerfs many of the more popular exotic items would be getting. Bungie answered those questions when it confirmed all the Destiny 2 exotic armor and weapon changes and adjustments that would be coming inside the big Final Shape update on June 4.

To help players get the most out of the final week, Bungie also revealed that it's doubling the rate at which Destiny 2 players can find shiny BRAVE weapons. Starting on May 28, players can take on the Onslaught activity or spend Triumphs of Bravery tokens at the Hall of Champions for a greater chance to unlock these limited edition guns before they're gone.

Until then, players can visit the exotic merchant Xur and check out an all-new selection of exotics and legendary gear for Destiny 2. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of May 24, 2024.

Where is Xur?

Over the next few days, players should head to the Tower Hangar to find Xur.

Fast travel to the main Tower section and after loading in, head to the left. Follow the stairs leading to the Hangar where Saint-14 can be found. Instead of running over there, move to the left side of the Hangar bay towards the catwalks overlooking the mountain ranges, where Xur can be found.

Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Exotic Perks:

  • Actual Grandeur - Provides additional damage resistance during Nova Bomb. Nova Bomb kills grant Super energy.

While it may not be the best roll of the week or even the best exotic available, it is an interesting one because Recovery is stacked at 30.

Shinobu's Vow - Hunter gauntlets

Exotic Perk:

  • New Tricks - Improves Skip Grenade, and you gain an additional Skip Grenade charge. Skip Grenade returns energy when it damages enemies.

This one is a hard exotic to recommend for those who don't use skip grenades. While it gives players an additional charge and returns energy, this isn't likely one that will replace any of the currently must have exotic armor pieces.

Exotic Perk:

  • Resolute - Arc final blows grant an escalating damage bonus with Arc weapons. Gain an overshield when activating Fists of Havoc, and gain the highest tier damage bonus to Arc weapons when your Fists of Havoc Super ends.

One of the exotic armor pieces getting tweaked for the Final Shape, it may be worth picking up just to see how it performs when it is no longer tied to the arc subclass. Unfortunately, the roll isn't great, so then again, players may just want to wait as this item appears with Xur fairly often.

Xur's Exotic Weapon

THis is a weapon that is featured quite often with Xur, so it's likely most players already have this. If not, pick it up to fill out the collection at the very least.

Weapon Perks:

  • Prismatic Inferno - Fires a Solar trace beam that creates a field of heat energy that grows as the weapon is fired. Sustained damage applies scorch to the target.
  • Flame Refraction - Kills with this weapon return a fraction of the ammo used to the magazine from reserves, extending the beam's duration.
  • Chambered Compensator
  • Projection Fuse
  • Composite Stock

Hawkmoon Hand Cannon Perks

At this point, Xur is only selling Hawkmoon with randomized rolls, but its time is limited once Harbinger is ultimately added to the Exotic Mission Rotator and makes the hand cannon craftable. Either way, here is the roll Xur has this weekend:
