Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Fans are now just days away from a big reveal, with the Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate expansion special livestream. Players will finally get answers to where Destiny 2 is heading over the next year, with this expansion kicking off the Codenames: Frontier era.
In the meantime, Bungie has also begun teasing the near future, giving players a preview of the next big Destiny 2 sandbox update. Are part of the new update on May 6, numerous exotic armor and weapons are being adjusted and, in the case of the legendary pulse rifle Redrix's Estoc, the gun is once again getting tweaked as it is still not quite where the studio would like it to be.
Destiny 2 Adding New Feature Called Event Home
Bungie announces the arrival of a new Destiny 2 feature called Event Home, which will debut in May alongside a unique Crucible mode.
With the weekend finally here, the exotic merchant Xur has returned with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of May 2, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there's no more hunting when the weekend comes around.
Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are hanging out and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley hiding Xur is to the right.
Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur's Exotic Armor
Aeon Soul - Warlock gauntlets
Exotic Perks:
- Sect of Force temporarily increases player reload speed and weapon swap speed after rapid precision hits. Taking down a champion or boss also gives nearby fireteam members a burst of grenade and melee energy.
- Sect of Vigor gives the player class energy when teammates die, then gains full class energy after reviving. When nearby players cast their super, allies gain a burst of healing.
- Sect of Insight has a chance to drop an orb of power after precision weapon takedowns. When using a finisher on an elite enemy, special ammo is dropped. Using a finisher on a boss or miniboss, heavy ammo drops instead.
The stats may be pretty good on this one, but the exotic item itself isn't a mainstay that Warlock's need to make sure they have at the ready. It's a decent support item, but not a must buy.
Stat Values (67 Total):
- Mobility +2
- Resilience +12
- Recovery +21
- Discipline +10
- Intellect +10
- Strength +12
Khepri's Sting - Hunter gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
-
Touch of Venom
- Punching someone with full melee energy will instantly cast Smoke Bomb. Your Smoke Bombs deal increased damage, regenerate more quickly when stuck to a surface, and grant you Truesight after damaging a target.
Normally a solid exotic, especially for PvP activities, the roll on this one is a little on the low side. Worth grabbing for those who don't have it though.
Stat Values (62 Total):
- Mobility +11
- Resilience +12
- Recovery +10
- Discipline +12
- Intellect +2
- Strength +15
Antaeus Wards - Titan leg armor
Exotic Perk:
-
Linear Actuators
- While sliding with full class ability energy, you gain a frontal shield that reflects incoming damage. After reflecting damage, your class ability energy is depleted based on the amount of damage reflected.
An interesting exotic that is really more reliant on specific instances of being able to reflect a projectile. There are better options out there.
Stat Values (67 total):
- Mobility +13
- Resilience +11
- Recovery +11
- Discipline +12
- Intellect +10
- Strength +10
