Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Even as Guardian Games continues into the second week of Destiny 2, all eyes have seeming turned to what's coming in April. Since the 2024 roadmap was revealed following the unfortunate delay to The Final Shape, something known as Into The Light has seemingly captured the curiousity of the community.

Thankfully, that mystery is set to come to an end starting next week, as Bungie is planning a trio of livestreams to fully reveal what Destiny 2 Into the Light actually is. In this week's blog post, Bungie also confirmed that Destiny 2 Into The Light arrives on April 9, serving as a sort of lead in to June's FInal Shape expansion.

However, in the meantime, the weekend merchant Xur has returned again with a whole selection of exotics and legendary gear for Destiny 2 players over the next few days. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of March 15, 2024.

Where is Xur?

Over the weekend, Destiny 2 players should head over to the European Dead Zone to locate Xur.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone, and immediately head to the back of the zone where the Fallen typically reside. Xur can be found on a higher ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Perk:

  • Vampire's Caress - Melee and finisher final blows instantly grant cure and provide restoration for a short duration.

Stats-wise, Warlocks won this week with the highest total at a 66 overall. These Karnstein Armlets have great Resilience, Recovery, and Discipline stats, making them worth a look.

Graviton Forfeit - Hunter helmet

Exotic Perk:

  • Vanishing Shadow - Increases the duration of any invisibility effects. While you are invisible, your melee recharges faster, your weapons reload faster, and your Recovery is greatly increased.

For Nightstalker builds dependent on invisibility, the Graviton Forfeit is a sold choice. Considering the Strength is at a 19 overall, it pairs well with the melee specific bonus as well.

Exotic Perk:

  • Ursine Guard - Move faster while guarding when Sentinel Shield is active. Guarded damage converts to Super energy when the Super ends.

What's odd here is that Xur continues a trend of bringing Titan exotics that have higher than normal mobility stats, something that is mostly useless for this class. The roll isn't strong enough with this issue, so unless a player is looking to fill out their collections, this can be skipped.

Xur's Exotic Weapon

The exotic weapon this week is the Vigilance Wing pulse rifle, which not only is a strong weapon in a cooperative setting, but enhances the player as well. Considering how strong pulse rifles are anyway, picking up an exotic version with a 5 shot burst instead of the normal 3 is always worth a pickup.

Weapon Perks:

  • Harsh Truths - This weapon fires a 5-round burst. When a nearby ally is killed, gain health regeneration and increased movement speed.
  • Last Stand - Improved weapon performance and greatly increased recovery when its wielder is the last living member of a fireteam.
