Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Season of the Deep continues to roll forward and in traditional fashion, continues to unlock a bit more content and story with each passing week. Fans continue to delve into the newest Destiny 2 dungeon called Ghost of the Deep, finding the best god roll gear as well as exploring the narrative through logs by the Hive god of war, Xivu Arath.
In terms of loot, players have been experimenting with the newest exotic weapon called The Navigator. While not a guaranteed drop inside of the dungeon, players have been attempting to get their hands on it as The Navigator which many regard as being broken in a good way. As the only Strand trace rifle, it lends itself well to buildcrafting with this particular subclass, finding synergy with a ton of abilities and mods to enhance it even further.
Speaking of exotic loot, the weekend merchant Xur has made a return to the world of Destiny 2. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of June 2, 2023.
Where is Xur?
This weekend, Xur can be found in the EDZ.
Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Exotic Armor
Vesper of Radius - Warlock helmet
Exotic Perk:
Planetary Torrent - Rifts emit an Arc shockwave every 5 seconds that deals damage (200 in PvE, 70 in PvP). Enemies defeated by these shockwaves explode for an additional 100 damage. If the player has an Arc subclass equipped, the shockwaves and the explosions created when they defeat an enemy also blind nearby enemies.
The weakest of the bunch this week is the Vesper of Radius with only a 63 total roll. It's fairly balanced, but the exotic in general isn't considered a top Warlock item, so it can be safely skipped.
Stat Values (63 Total):
- Mobility +9
- Resilience +11
- Recovery +13
- Discipline +6
- Intellect +6
- Strength +18
Aeon Swift - Hunter gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
- Sect of Force - Temporarily increases player reload speed and weapon swap speed after rapid precision hits. Taking down a champion or boss also gives nearby fireteam members a burst of grenade and melee energy.
- Sect of Vigor - Gives the player class energy when teammates die, then gaining full class energy after reviving. When nearby players cast their super, allies gain a burst of healing.
- Sect of Insight - Grants a chance to drop an orb of power after precision weapon takedowns. When using a finisher on an elite enemy, special ammo is dropped. Using a finisher on a boss or miniboss, heavy ammo drops instead.
Originally considered some of the worst exotics in the game, the Aeon Cult set received a complete overhaul a couple of years ago which made them at least usable with swappable perks. They're still not a must-have item and won't replace any of the current hot exotics, so players can certainly skip this.
Stat Values (65 Total):
- Mobility +7
- Resilience +7
- Recovery +20
- Discipline +20
- Intellect +6
- Strength +7
Lion Rampant - Titan leg armor
Exotic Perk:
Jump Jets - Provides additional aerial maneuverability and enables accurate hipfire while players are in the air during Lift. Provides a large benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons while hipfiring.
For the second straight week, Titan players get another exotic that has solid stats with low mobility. Better yet, the stat roll this week is even higher at a 67, so it's worth picking up just to replace a worse roll from that sense. While it's certainly not one of the top Titan exotics, it certainly can help with platforming sections and for that alone, is worth keeping around.
Stat Values (67 total):
- Mobility +6
- Resilience +8
- Recovery +20
- Discipline +20
- Intellect +11
- Strength +2
Exotic Weapon
The minigun looking Sweet Business features the perk Payday which gives the gun a larger magazine and increased accuracy when firing from the hip. Its secondary perk, Business Time, boosts the range and rate of fire while the trigger is held. In addition, ammo pickups are automatically loaded into the gun. It's worth noting that Season of the Deep slightly changed the weapon, giving it explosive rounds every 20 shots (fewer shots while fully spun up).
It's not likely to replace any of the current weapons in the meta, but it can be a fun weapon to use, especially with the new explosive rounds. It shines particularly bright in PvE activities as players can deal a lot of damage very quickly.
Weapon perks:
- Polygonal Rifling
- Armor Piercing Rounds
- Composite Stock
Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale Rolls
Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he'll be carrying different rolls.
Hawkmoon Rolls:
- Chambered Compensator
- Alloy Magazine
- Moving Target
- Heavy Grip
Dead Man's Tale Rolls:
- Corkscrew Rifling
- High-Calibur Rounds
- Outlaw
- Hand-Laid Stock
