Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. As things begin to slow down for Destiny 2, with another 6 months of Season of the Wish, fans have begun to pinpoint some of the elements of the game that could use a tweak. One such issue Destiny 2 fans currently have with the game is with the Togetherness modifier, which essentially forces a fireteam to stay together in order to heal, something that can be tough to do in higher difficulty activities.
Others have run into existing issues with the game that have seemingly become worse in recent weeks. Players have noticed that many thrown objects, such as the Sunbreaker's throwing hammer or Gunslinger's knife, appears to be missing or warping around enemies, no matter how well lined up the shot is. According to players, this Destiny 2 throwing item problem has become a lot worse since The Dawning arrived, with many thinking it may be related to the issues experienced with the snowball abilities.
Destiny 2 Earns Top Seller Award on Steam in 2023 Despite Recent Struggles
On Steam's 2023 End of Year awards, Destiny 2 earns a spot on the Top Seller list despite recent reports over the game missing sales projections.
In the meantime, Xur is back again with a whole selection of exotics and legendaries for Destiny 2 players over the next few days. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of January 5, 2023.
Where is Xur?
Starting today, Xur can be found back on the EDZ inside the Winding Cove.
Take the fast travel point from the Winding Cove, EDZ location, then run to the back of the area of the zone after loading in. Xur can be found standing on a ledge above the path, near some Fallen wreckage.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Exotic Armor
Ophidian Aspect - Warlock gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
Cobra Totemic - Weapons ready and reload very quickly. Provides a small benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.
Similar to the Hunter exotics this week, the Ophidian Aspect is certainly useful, though it isn't likely going to be at the top of anyone's must have or best exotic lists. The roll is the highest of the three this week, sitting at a 67 overall with an extremely high resilience stat. It's certainly worth picking up for the roll alone.

Sealed Ahamkara Grasps - Hunter gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
Nightmare Fuel - Dealing melee damage reloads the currently equipped weapon. Charged melee final blows reload all weapons. Provides a large benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons, and movement speed and jump height after dealing melee damage.
A solid, but less than exciting exotic for Hunters with a roll that may leave many disappointed. It's not a must-buy week for Hunter players.

Ursa Furiosa - Titan gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
Ursine Guard - Move faster while guarding when Sentinel Shield is active. Guarded damage converts to Super energy when the Super ends.
A solid choice for Sentinel Shield users, even if the Ursa Furiosa don't quite perform as well as they did a few years ago with super regeneration. The roll is pretty good on these, even if the mobility is a bit higher than many Titan players would ultimately like.

Exotic Weapon
Although it's much easier to obtain these days than it was a few years ago, the Monte Carlo is still a worthwhile auto rifle for melee enthusiasts. The Monte Carlo Method is an intrinsic perk which reduces the player's melee cooldown when dealing damage with the gun. In addition, it gives a chance to fully charge the player's melee ability following each kill. Markov Chain pairs with this ability, which gives the gun increased damage following melee kills and kills with the weapon. Melee kills also generate weapon ammo.
Auto Rifles are always a solid choice in Destiny 2 and Monte Carlo is more than a viable option for many players especially considering its ability to help regenerate melee abilities. For those who don't yet have this weapon, it's worth picking up this week.

At this point, Xur is only selling Hawkmoon with randomized rolls, but its time is limited once Harbinger is ultimately added to the Exotic Mission Rotator and makes the hand cannon craftable. Either way, here is the roll Xur has this weekend:
