Mayhem may been the featured Crucible mode this week in Destiny 2, but mayhem is what also occurred following the latest update that also arrive. Upon logging in, fans noticed that resources and upgrade materials have been removed from their inventory, which naturally set off a panic. Bungie put the game into emergency maintenance, which ultimately led to the controversial decision to roll back character states to earlier in the day. Unfortunately, this meant that any progress made after that point would not have occurred, resulting in some players losing progress.
Even with other bugs still plaguing the game, the final phase of Season of Dawn is rapidly approaching. One of the more mysterious aspects to the roadmap was the Empyrean Foundation, which was finally revealed yesterday in Bungie's weekly update. The large scale, co-operative event is one that all players can help progress by donating polarize fractaline into the Twoer Obelisk. The event has seven stages, multiple triumphs, and a special emblem for those who donate more than 5,000.

Until that event kicks off next week, Destiny 2's exotic merchant Xur has returned once again with four exotic items up for purchase. Follow this guide for his location as well as a review of what he's currently selling for the weekend of January 31, 2020.
Where is Xur?
Players looking for easy exotics this weekend should head to the Giant's Scar on Io.
Once loaded in, immediately head through the building into the area with the large drill in the center. Head left through the gate and follow the edges of the zone to the top left corner of the map where Xur is hiding in a cave.
Class Armor
Keep in mind that the Armor 2.0 update has caused Xur's items each week to mirror the rolls players get from pulling these items from their own Collections. As it stands, players should likely hold on to their shards if they already own the following items. Players can use the Fated Engram to pull something a little different if nothing in his inventory is appealing this week, including newer exotic items.
Here are Xur's three gear pieces this weekend:
Starfire Protocol - Warlock chest armor
It's been a long while but Xur has brought back the Starfire Protocol armor for Dawnblade Warlocks. For better or for worse, the Starfire Protocol is focused entirely around fusion grenades. Fusion Harness provides players with 1 extra fusion grenade charge and they also recharge faster when the player makes a kill with an empowered weapon. Fusion grenade kills also recharge the rift ability faster.
While the perks may not sound very exciting, players have found some interesting uses for the armor, especially when it is paired with the Attunement of Grace tree. This support build allows players to use an empowering rift basically letting them have two healing grenades. Plus, the added damage not only recharges the rift but kills made from an empowered weapon also recharge the grenade faster as well. It's not a must have item this week, but it does have its uses.
Void Enhanced. Stat Values:
- Mobility +6
- Resilience +7
- Recovery +12
- Discipline +12
- Intellect +6
- Strength +6
Lucky Pants - Hunter boots
After taking a couple weeks off, the Lucky Pants are back in stock. Players who favor hand cannons may want to take a look at these as they may be a viable options for Hunter players.
Its intrinsic perk Illegally Modded Holster, loads one round into the chamber of stowed hand cannons after a precision hit. In addition, hand cannons ready faster and have a bonus to accuracy after switching to them. Considering that the perk is so dependent on a single type of weapon, it's not going to be for everyone.
Void Enhanced. Stat Values:
- Mobility +7
- Resilience +7
- Recovery +10
- Discipline +12
- Intellect +6
- Strength +6
Peregrine Greaves - Titan boots
The rarely seen Peregrine Greaves finally make their way back to Xur this weekend. Peregrine Strike enhances all shoulder charge melee abilities to deal bonus damage when it is activated in the air.
These Titan boots got in a bit of trouble leading up to the Garden of Salvation raid last October, getting removed from the entire game for 24 hours to keep the competition of World's First fair. Needless to say, these boots are pretty powerful, even if they received a nerf at the start of this season. However, one could make the argument that they're more situational than anything as the wearer does need to be airborne to get the bonus and shoulder charges typically one shot enemies anyway.
Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:
- Mobility +13
- Resilience +13
- Recovery +2
- Discipline +6
- Intellect +6
- Strength +12
Exotic Weapon
At once a running joke, the Fighting Lion has definitely become a well rounded favorite for players. Its intrinsic perk is called Delayed Gratification, allowing players to hold the trigger and then release it to detonate the grenade. The grenades can also bounce off surfaces, allowing for some very tricky shots. Its trait is Thin the Herd which makes direct hits do more damage to shields, while rapid kills to grenade damaged enemies refill the magazine. Finally, kills with this weapon always drop primary ammo.
The biggest thing this weapon has going for it is that it doesn't take up a heavy slot like most Grenade launchers. Instead it sits in the energy slot, freeing up players to continue using a machine gun or other heavy grenade launcher as needed. This is also a weapon that likely won't be for everyone as its delayed detonation requires a bit of skill to fully master. However, for those who can get the hang of it, the gun can be very rewarding and fun to use. It's also great for certain quests like The Wendigo or the Mountaintop.
Additional perks:
