Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. This week, Bungie has focused on what's coming in the next few months, as Season of the Wish has come to its conclusion, leaving a large gap of time until The Final Shape officially launches. Revealed in its weekly blog, Bungie confirmed that the Iron Banner is coming back two more times in April, and the seasonal cap for Threader Bounties would be refreshed on March 5. However, also on March 5, Destiny 2 players can get a free gift of 700 Bright Dust each week, just for visiting the Eververse Store.
At reset this week, Bungie also released a new update for Destiny 2. While fixing a few lingering bugs within the game, the patch also made a few seasonal changes which include reducing the completion criterie for the Rolled Stats Seasonal Triumph. The Wishing Glass Shards drop rate has also been increased, letting players reach Platinum level easier, and the Starcrossed exotic mission had a player-friendly bug patched out where certain weapons like the Wish Ender box and Revision Zero pulse rifle could damage enemies through a glass wall before entering the boss arena.
Destiny 2 Releases Final Prime Gaming Rewards
Bungie reveals the final set of Prime Gaming rewards for Destiny 2, bringing the free content program to an end after four years.
With the weekend now here, Xur is back again with a whole selection of exotics and legendary gear for Destiny 2 players over the next few days. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of February 9, 2023.
Where is Xur?
This weekend, Destiny 2 players will need to head to the European Dead Zone and the Winding Cove zone.
Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Exotic Armor
Contraverse Hold - Warlock gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
- Chaotic Exchanger - Resist incoming damage while charging a Void grenade. Charged Void grenades return grenade energy on a hit.
Typically, a solid exotic for Voidwalker Warlocks, the biggest problem facing this is that it not only has the lowest roll of the group, but also stats like Mobility which are higher than typically needed.
Stat Values (64 Total):
- Mobility +15
- Resilience +7
- Recovery +12
- Discipline +16
- Intellect +7
- Strength +7
The Sixth Coyote - Hunter chest armor
Exotic Perk:
- Double Dodge - Gain a second dodge charge.
Fairly straight forward and not particularly interesting, the Sixth Coyote does offer Hunters a solid bonus of a second dodge, which always comes in handy. The roll is pretty good on these, but it's unlikely to replace the current top Hunter exotics during Season of the Wish.
Stat Values (65 Total):
- Mobility +16
- Resilience +9
- Recovery +8
- Discipline +10
- Intellect +7
- Strength +15
Mk. 44 Stand Asides - Titan Leg Armor
Exotic Perk:
- Seriously, Watch Out - Grants an overshield when sprinting at full health with Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash equipped and charged. Hits with these abilities recharge a portion of melee energy.
In terms of stats, Titans are the big winner this week with the Mk. 44 Stand Asides coming in at a 67 total. Unfortunately, it doesn't synergize particularly well with the exotic perk, considering that it has a 23 for Intellect, so this isn't a necessary pick up either.
Stat Values (67 total):
- Mobility +7
- Resilience +8
- Recovery +20
- Discipline +2
- Intellect +23
- Strength +7
Exotic Weapon
Originally added alongside the Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2, The Queenbreaker's unique feature is that it offers players two different ways to fire the weapon. Through Marksman sights, players can stack additional damage with long-range sights that also display ammo and charge levels. The tradeoff is that it takes the gun a little longer to fully charge before firing. Combat sights give the player faster charges and greater handling, though they can't zoom in as far.
The exotic perk of this weapon is called Wire Rifle which fires a long range precision Arc bolt that blinds enemies on hit. Players can also change the sights on it which impacts charge time and damage. This is a bit of a skill weapon, so it likely won't be for everyone and it's not likely to replace the top heavy weapons in rotation this season.
Weapon perks:
- Enhanced Battery
- Fitted Stock
- Hip Fire Grip/Quickdraw
Hawkmoon Rolls
At this point, Xur is only selling Hawkmoon with randomized rolls, but its time is limited once Harbinger is ultimately added to the Exotic Mission Rotator and makes the hand cannon craftable. Either way, here is the roll Xur has this weekend:
Hawkmoon Rolls:
- Fluted Barrel
- Alloy Magazine
- Snapshot Sights
- Combat Grip
Here's the complete rundown of Xur's exotic stock in Destiny 2 for February 9, 2023:
