Summary

Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Episode Heresy enters its period of downtime between Acts, giving players a slight breather as well as another opportunity to farm gear including weapons from the new Sundered Doctrine dungeon.

Earlier in the week, Bungie released a new update for Destiny 2, fixing several bugs and issues impacting the game. Activities like Trials of Osiris and Sundered Doctrine received the most tweaks in this update, while Bungie also spent time adjusting certain exotic gear like the Speaker's Sight, Blight Ranger, Lodestar, Finality's Auger, and Barrow-Dyad to name a few.

For now though, the exotic merchant Xur is back with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of February 28, 2025.

Where is Xur?

Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there's no more hunting when the weekend comes around.

Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are hanging out and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley hiding Xur is to the right.

Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur's Exotic Armor

Apotheosis Veil - Warlock helmet

Exotic Perk:

Insatiable - Immediately regenerate health, melee, grenade, and Rift energy for you and your nearby allies upon activating your Super. After your Super ends, temporarily gain greatly increased melee and grenade regen.

Another not required purchase this week unfortunately, especially with an overly high mobility stat.

Aeon Swift - Hunter gauntlets

Exotic Perk:

Aeon's Wrath - Rapid precision hits with a weapon temporarily increase reload speed and weapon swap speed.
Foebreaker Chant - Stunning a Champion or landing rapid precision hits on a powerful combatant will mark them. Your allies deal increased damage to marked combatants. When a combatant is first marked, nearby Aeon Cult allies who do not have the Sect of Force role equipped gain grenade and melee energy.

While this exotic is much better than its original version, these are still more of a niche pick and won't dethrone any of the current top meta picks.

Actium War Rig - Titan chest armor

Exotic Perk:

Auto-Loading Link - Steadily reloads a portion of your equipped Auto Rifle's or Machine Gun's magazine from reserves. Provides a moderate benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of Auto Rifles and Machine Guns.

While the overall roll is nice, the distribution is not as Mobility is the high value.

Xur's Exotic Weapons

Year 7's Xur revamp has also added the ability to offer multiple exotic weapons in one visit. Here is what Xur has this weekend:

Hawkmoon - Hand Cannon

Paracausal Shot - Final blows and precision hits with Hawkmoon grant stacks of Paracausal Charge. The final round in the magazine deals bonus damage based on the number of stacks. Stowing Hawkmoon on the final round removes this bonus.

The Huckleberry - SMG

Ride the Bull - Larger magazine. Increased accuracy when firing from the hip. Picking up Special or Heavy ammo immediately reloads this weapon.

Lord of Wolves - Shotgun

Shrapnel Launcher - Laser damage has three power levels that oscillate while the trigger is held down.
Release the Wolves - Collecting an Orb of Power grants a period of maximum power that starts with an automatic reload. Sustained fire in this mode suppresses targets.

Mad Scientist - Hold Reload to swap between scopes and alter this weapon's firing behavior.
