Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. It's a good time for new loot as Destiny 2 enters into a very busy time as the Lightfall expansion approaches later this month. With Season of the Seraph, players are wrapping up challenges and other seasonal content as Bungie has confirmed that the finale event kicks off next week at reset for anyone who has reached the current end of More than a Machine story.

In the meantime, Bungie has continued to share new details about what fans can expect in a few weeks when the next season arrives alongside Lightfall. The latest reveal centered on the weapon crafting mechanics, which again is being simplified by the removal of Resonant Elements in favor of traditional currencies like glimmer. Weapon crafting in Destiny 2 has seen significant changes since its arrival during the Witch Queen expansion, and many of them have been in favor of players.

In the meantime, the weekend merchant Xur has finally arrived back inside of Destiny 2 for another weekend visit. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of February 10, 2023.

Where is Xur?

Over this weekend, players should head to Watcher's Grave on Nessus to find the merchant up the massive tree towards the back of the zone.

From the Director, head to Nessus and load into Watcher's Grave. Run towards the back of the zone where a massive tree is found. Jump up until players find the huge branch where the merchant is hanging out.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor

Starfire Protocol - Warlock chest armor

The grenade focused Starfire Protocol is back in stock this weekend. Fusion Harness provides players with 1 extra fusion grenade charge, and they also recharge the Rift ability faster when the player makes a kill with a grenade.

While the perks may not sound very exciting, players have found some interesting uses for the armor, especially with the Solar 3.0 reworks. This support build allows players to use an empowering rift basically letting them have two healing grenades. Plus, the added damage not only recharges the rift but kills made from an empowered weapon also recharge the grenade faster as well. It's not a must-have item this week, but it does have its uses. The most unfortunate thing about this exotic is that the roll isn't great for Warlocks as its highest value is Mobility. However, the roll is at 65, so players could utilize mods to raise up the more desirable traits.

Stat Values:

  • Mobility +18
  • Resilience +11
  • Recovery +4
  • Discipline +16
  • Intellect +7
  • Strength +9
Destiny 2 Nine Days Nights Ornament For Knucklehead Radar

Knucklehead Radar - Hunter helmet

Hunters gets the Knucklehead Radar helmet this week. The helm really lends itself to PvP modes in the Crucible thanks to the perk Upgraded Sensor Pack which enhances the player’s radar when crouched and keeps it on the screen when aiming down the sights.

Useful is the best term to describe this exotic as it's not the best option out there for Hunters, but it can be valuable in the right situations. Knowing where enemies are coming from even when aiming down the sights can come in handy inside the Crucible, though there are better options overall. The roll is at a 62 this week, with highs for Recovery, Discipline, and above average Mobility.

Stat Values:

  • Mobility +13
  • Resilience +3
  • Recovery +17
  • Discipline +21
  • Intellect +2
  • Strength +6

Ursa Furiosa - Titan gauntlets

At one point, these were the go-to exotic for Sentinel Titans, though things have changed over the past year or so. Ultimately, these were heavily impactedd by Bungie's decision to nerf super generating exotics that arrived alongside Season of the Lost.

Regardless, Ursine Guard is the intrinsic perk which enables the player to move faster when guarding with Sentinel Shield. However, the best part of this perk is that blocked damage will convert into additional super energy once the super ends, similar to other class exotics like the Shards of Galanor for Hunters. As previously mentioned, the returned energy has a cap now, so it's not nearly as useful as it was previously, though it can generate a lot of orbs very quickly, so it may be worth a look. Similar to the Starfire Protocol, the worst part of this exotic is the stat distribution. At a total of 62, its highest stat value is Mobility, which isn't ideal.

Stat Values:

  • Mobility +19
  • Resilience +10
  • Recovery +2
  • Discipline +16
  • Intellect +13
  • Strength +2

Exotic Weapon

For better or worse, the SUROS Regime is back in stock after appearing twice in January. Its perk is SUROS Legacy, which gives half of the current ammo magazine bonus damage as well as giving a chance to regenerate health after a kill. However, the gun features a second perk that lets players pick what kind of weapon they want to use. Spinning Up increases the rate of fire when the trigger is held down. On the other hand, Dual Speed Receiver slows down the rate of fire and increases the damage when the player aims down the sights.

Nothing has really changed since the last time it was featured. The SUROS remains a solid and reliable auto rifle, though there are likely better options out there at the moment.

Additional perks:

  • Hammer-forged Rifling
  • Tactical Mag
  • Hand-Laid Stock

Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale Rolls

Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions, Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he'll be carrying different rolls.
