Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. The Dawning continues in Destiny 2 this week, bringing the snow and holiday festivities to The Tower. Players will continue to bake cookies for the various NPCs throughout the game, utilizing ingredients earned through activities and defeating certain enemy types.
However, in addition to the usual mechanics, The Dawning 2023 is bringing a few new elements to the table including a new event card to work through as well as gear that players can purchase or earn. New Dawning Armor is available for Bright Dust of Silver through the Eververse Store, while players can also unlock the Stasis infused Albedo Wing legendary glaive. Taking a page from the Festival of the Lost, The Dawning also introduces its own unique memento through the Winter Night quest, giving weapons the shader is applied to an icy blue look.

During the current Dawning event in Destiny 2, players can use this easy and fast method to quickly farm Dawning Essence while playing.
In addition to The Dawning, Xur is back again with a whole selection of exotics and legendaries for Destiny 2 players over the next few days. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of December 15, 2023.
Where is Xur?
Over the next few days, Destiny 2 players should head to the Tower Hangar to find the exotic merchant.
After loading in, head off to the left and follow the stairs down into the Hangar where Saint-14 can be found. Instead of heading to his spot, turn immediately to the left after entering the Hangar and move to the back to the area to where Xur can be found standing on the catwalks overlooking the snowy mountains in the background.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Winter's Guile - Warlock gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
Warlord's Sigil - Defeating targets with melee attacks increases melee damage. Targets encased by Penumbral Blast automatically shatter.
Of the three options this week, this is the hardest one to recommend. The roll isn't the best and the exotic bonus doesn't really fit the typical Warlock build as it requires multiple melee attacks in a row to trigger the effect once an enemy is defeated. There are better exotic options for Warlocks.

Liar's Handshake - Hunter gauntlets
Exotic Perk:
Cross Counter - Using an Arc melee ability or being hit by a melee attack will allow the player to follow up with an extremely powerful melee counterpunch that heals.
At one point, Liar's Handshake could help Hunters decimate boss characters. While not nearly as strong after a round of nerfs, the gauntlets are still a solid exotic with a lot of utility for solo players thanks to their ability to heal. The roll this week is also pretty nice with a 67 overall and a huge Resilience boost so these are worth a pickup.

Armamentarium - Titan chest armor
Exotic Perk:
And Another Thing - Grants an extra Grenade Ability Charge.
Certainly not the most exciting of exotics this week, the Armamentarium is at least useful in giving players two grenade charges to work with. The stat roll this week is also pretty good for Titan players, providing a major boost to Recovery and Discipline as well for faster grenade recharging.

Exotic Weapon
Black Talon, last seen earlier this year is in stock once more and worth a look. The reason is due to Black Talon's unique ability to fire projectiles as well as slash enemies up close. The Crow's Wing perk which lets the user swing to fire off a cross combo projectile, while its secondary perk, Tireless Blade, gives ammo for every other powered sword kill.
While Swords are generally not the first choice for the heavy slot these days, especially with Destiny 2's buff to Rocket Launchers, Black Talon is certainly worth a pick up as it can not only slice enemies up close, but take them out from distance as well.

Hawkmoon Rolls
At this point, Xur is only selling Hawkmoon with randomized rolls, but its time is limited once Harbinger is ultimately added to the Exotic Mission Rotator and makes the hand cannon craftable. Either way, here is the roll Xur has this weekend:
