Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Alongside the Destiny 2 Weekly Reset this past week, Act 3 of Episode Heresy has finally arrived, delivering the first part of the final sections of this story.
However, the start of Act 3 promises to continually add new content over the next few weeks, bringing back the SUnless Cell strike from the original Destiny, while also adding the final couple of catalysts to the Barrow-Dyad exotic SMG. Starting on May 6, Bungie will be adding the completed version of Destiny 2's Rite of the Nine activity, remixing dungeons and rewards handed out for completing them.
Destiny 2 Releases New Update for April 2025
The latest Destiny 2 update continues to make adjustments to various weapon types, including one that remains incredibly popular within the Crucible.
The daily reset on Friday also means it's time for the exotic merchant Xur, who has returned with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of April 4, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there's no more hunting when the weekend comes around.
Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are hanging out and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley hiding Xur is to the right.
Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

- Resist incoming damage while charging your Void grenade with Chaos Accelerant. Charged Void grenades return grenade energy on a hit.
A more PvE heavy exotic this week for Voidwalker Warlocks. It's certainly not a must have, but the roll is pretty solid.

Mechaneer's Tricksleeves - Hunter gauntlets

Spring-Loaded Mounting
- Increases Sidearm airborne effectiveness, ready speed, and reload speed. While you're critically wounded, swapping to a Sidearm reloads it and increases its damage. While this effect is active, Sidearm final blows reload the weapon and extend the effect's duration.
Very much a sidearm-specific exotic, so for everyone else, this is an easy pass. Ultimately, it's not very exciting and there are much better options available.

- Steadily reloads a portion of your equipped Auto Rifle's or Machine Gun's magazine from reserves. Provides a moderate benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of Auto Rifles and Machine Guns.
It may not be a truly flashy or unique exotic, but for Auto Rifle and Machine Gun users, it's certainly useful.
