Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. The next phase of the Into The Light event for Destiny 2 kicked off this week, with the Black Armory's Hammerhead Machine gun making it's anticipated return as well as a new variant of the Forebearance grenade launcher, which fans could previously only get from the Vow of the Disciple raid. Now, the guns are widely available to earn for playing Onslaught, complete with updated perks.

With The Final Shape expansion rapidly approaching, Bungie released a new trailer for the Destiny 2 expansion narrated by Nathan Fillion, who is reprising his role as Cayde-6. The footage gives players another great look at The Pale Heart, the new location inside The Traveler that shifts and evolves by taking on twisted new forms of past experiences. There's little doubt that longtime players will notice some familiar locations as they traverse this location, comprised of nearly a decade's worth of content.

In the meantime, the weekend has arrived with the merchant Xur and an all-new selection of exotics and legendary gear for Destiny 2 players over the next few days. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of April 26, 2024.

Where is Xur?

Xur is back in the Tower Hangar this weekend.

Fast Travel to the main Tower location and once spawned in, head to the left to the Hangar area where Saint-14 resides. After heading down the main stairs into the hangar, head to the left towards the back of the area where the snowcapped mountains are. On the catwalks is Xur.

Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Ophidian Aspect - Warlock gauntlets

Exotic Perk:

  • Cobra Totemic - Weapons ready and reload very quickly. Provides a small benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.

Nothing too exciting with these exotic gauntlets, simply improving reload and ready speed, while also making airborne combat more effective. These are typically a solid PvP exotic, though the roll this week is a little disappointing.

Knucklehead Radar - Hunter helmet

Exotic Perk:

  • Upgraded Sensor Pack - Provides radar while you're aiming. Enhances your radar resolution while crouched. Visually marks targets. Deals more damage to low-health marked targets. Provides a small benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.

Recently on sale, the Knucklehead Radar remains a solid PvP exotic, though the roll this week is a bit on the low side compared to previous Xur rolls.

Eternal Warrior - Titan helmet

Exotic Perk:

  • Resolute - Arc final blows grant an escalating damage bonus with Arc weapons. Gain an overshield when activating Fists of Havoc, and gain the highest tier damage bonus to Arc weapons when your Fists of Havoc Super ends.

Not an incredibly high roll, but the Eternal Warrior continues a positive trend of Titan exotics not rolling with overly high mobility.

Xur's Exotic Weapon

A unique shotgun, Lord of Wolves gives players 2 different firing options from a powerful short burst solar damage, to a full auto blast.

  • Shrapnel Launcher - Fires a powerful short-range burst of Solar damage.
  • Release the Wolves - Greatly increases rate of fire and shoots in full auto.

At this point, Xur is only selling Hawkmoon with randomized rolls, but its time is limited once Harbinger is ultimately added to the Exotic Mission Rotator and makes the hand cannon craftable. Either way, here is the roll Xur has this weekend:
