The Wish-Keeper is a crowd-control-oriented bow that's especially valuable in high-difficulty PvE content in Destiny 2. At base, it's capable of suspending targets with Strand traps, making them take more damage from Wish-Keeper itself. While it's not as great at deleting things outright, it's particularly useful for anything that's hard to kill, like Tormentors, minibosses, and shielded Phalanxes.

However, players get a few additional tactical options with Wish-Keeper's four catalysts. As a craftable Destiny 2 exotic, players can choose between four different catalysts that are all tailored for roles. Here's what Wish-Keeper's catalysts do and how to get them.

Updated January 18, 2024, by Marc Santos: This Wish-Keeper Catalyst guide has been updated to include the Constellation quests in the Starcrossed mission. Two of these constellations can be found inside the Wish-Keeper bow's exotic quest, while the others are hidden in the Dreaming City. To unlock the catalysts, you'll need to finish Starcrossed on Legend difficulty at least once after revealing the constellations. If you have all four of the Constellation quests on the same step in your journal, then you can unlock all the catalysts in a single Starcrossed run. Keep in mind that catalysts and intrinsic upgrades for the Wish-Keeper are different, and you'll have to scour the exotic mission for hidden chests if you want to unlock the latter.

All Wish-Keeper Catalysts

Wish-Keeper shares a lot of similarities with other seasonal Exotic weapons. This Strand bow has modular slots for its catalyst and Intrinsic trait slots, with the latter giving the weapon a flat stat bonus similar to a Masterwork upgrade. The catalysts for this weapon include:

Wish-Keeper Catalysts

Catalyst

Effect

Enduring Snare Refit

Snareweaver Traps last longer

Multi-Threaded Snare Refit

Snareweaver Traps can now suspend more targets

Hatchling Refit

Precision or rapid final blows with Wish-Keeper have a chance to spawn a Threadling

Vorpal Weapon Refit

Wish-Keeper deals 20% more damage to bosses, vehicles, and Guardians using their Super (~40% increase in PvP)

Unlike Revision Zero and the Exotic glaive Vexcalibur, Wish-Keeper has two catalyst options that directly upgrade its Exotic perk: Snareweaver. The perk causes the weapon to gain energy when scoring Precision hits and final blows. When energy is full, firing a shot from the hip unleashes a Snareweaver arrow, which creates a pattern of Strand Suspend traps upon hitting a surface.

The best part of Snareweaver is that players don't need to use their Strand subclass in order to suspend enemies, opening it up for cross-element buildcrafting. Even if players decide to use the Hatchling and Vorpal Weapon catalysts, Wish-Keeper can still find a place in the fireteam as a dedicated anti-champion weapon thanks to Suspend and the bow's built-in Anti-Unstoppable trait.

How to Get Wish-Keeper Catalysts

As of Season of the Wish, Wish-Keeper's Catalysts are locked behind quests given by Mara Sov that only become available after acquiring the bow. Speak with her at the HELM to get the Constellation quests, which will have players going back to Starcrossed in Legend difficulty to find constellations that must be shot with Wish-Keeper. Multiple catalysts can be unlocked in a single Starcrossed run as long as players have the required quest steps unlocked (the step that requires them to finish the mission again on Legend difficulty).

Constellation: Tower Location

Destiny 2 Constellation Tower location

The first constellation is found near the beginning of the mission. Pass through the initial platforming section to reach the first outdoor area. Go to the area near the bridge leading to the Taken Gate, then look right. There's a rocky outcrop there with a beam of light on top. Make your way up to the beam and interact with it to reveal stars in the sky. Shoot the stars with the Wish-Keeper until the Tower constellation forms. Claim the inscription to finish the quest step, then beat the final boss to unlock the catalyst.

Constellation: Lock

The second constellation is outside the Starcrossed mission and in the Spine of Keres area of the Dreaming City. From the Divalian Mists, head past the Corsair camp and go through the alcove leading to the northern cliffside to enter the Spine of Keres. Then, from the round arena leading to the tower, take the path to the left. Keep going until you see a faint beam of light in the distance. Activate it, then start shooting the stars with the bow to form the constellation. After that, finish Starcrossed on Legend again.

Constellation: Pair Location

The third one is in a hidden area right after the second encounter of Starcrossed. After finishing the jumping section inside the chasm, you'll reach an area with an orange buff pool. From the pool, turn around and hug the wall. Then, go right (while still hugging the wall) to find a hole in the corner. Go inside to see the message that reveals Constellation Pair. Again, shoot all the stars with Wish-Keeper, then finish Starcrossed to unlock the Vorpal Weapon catalyst for Wish-Keeper.

The final constellation is in the Gardens of Esila in the Dreaming City, right by the entrance to the garden proper. Jump up the small, rocky spire on the map marker above and look for the beam of light shooting toward the sky. This constellation unlocks the Hatchling Refit catalyst after you beat Starcrossed on Legend difficulty again.
