The second encounter of Vesper's Host dungeon in Destiny 2 involves a boss fight against a peculiar-looking servitor who will periodically spit out round bombs into the arena. While this encounter isn't difficult, it does introduce a new Protocol (or role) into the mix—Suppressor. It doesn't feature the Scanner protocol, but players should keep in mind what each role does in preparation for the final encounter after Raneiks.

Destiny 2's episode Revenant comes with brand-new weapons available from its new Onslaught activity. Here's which ones to grind for.

How To Defeat Raneiks Unified

Gather Four Numbers To Start The Damage Phase

The goal is to input a code of four numbers by activating keypads that are around the structure near the rally banner. Players might have to walk around and look for some of these keypad numbers, which go from 1 to 0 (0 being 10).

Destiny 2 Raneiks Machine Priest

When the encounter starts, kill off the enemies. One of them will drop the Operator Protocol, so make sure to bank it into the terminal for safekeeping until later. Raneiks will summon a large Fallen miniboss, Machine Priest, to the center of the arena. Defeat him, and the fireteam will get teleported into the upper portion of the arena.

Here, destroy all the explosive and normal shanks while avoiding Raneiks' bombs. Eventually, a Shank with a blue Suppressor protocol role will spawn next to Raneiks.

Kill him, pick up the role, and use your Grenade ability button to create a decoy of yourself near Raneiks. Shoot the decoy, and Raneiks will split into multiple small servitors.

Out of these servitors, two will have glowing markings on their faces. Take note of their names. For example, if Raneiks-2 and Raneiks-9 have markings, two of the numbers to input will be 2 and 9. You can now return to the arena below through the doorway behind Raneiks, and the round will start again, exactly the same. In the above image, Raneiks-5 and the second servitor from the left are the correct ones.

The second episode, Revenant, has arrived for Destiny 2, and the new artifact holds tons of great perks for Stasis, Void, and Arc lovers.

Once the second set of two numbers is acquired, pick up the red Operator Protocol and input the numbers by shooting the correct panels. There is no exact order—only the right ones need to be shot. This will begin the DPS phase.

Dealing Damage To Raneiks

For DPS, Raneiks will come down to the middle of the arena, in front of the stairs. An enemy with a Suppressor protocol will also spaw n. Kill him, grab the protocol, and use your Grenade ability again to create a decoy and shoot it to force Raneiks to split into multiple servitors.

Destiny 2 Raneiks At Final Stand

While in this form, Raneiks takes more damage. It doesn't seem to matter which servitor is damaged, as long as they are damaged. Splash damage weapons like grenade launchers and the Parasite will be handy here, along with any burst ultimate. Repeat the encounter for as long as needed until the boss reaches its final chip of health.

The last small chunk of health on Raneiks will take longer to remove. Focus on killing all the servitors, until all of them are dead and the arena will be filled with orbs. That concludes the second encounter and first boss of Vesper's Host. To proceed, head to the upper portion of the arena to find a doorway that is now open.
