Verglas Curve is an Exotic that combines two things that are not particularly strong in the early Lightfall meta of Destiny 2: Stasis and combat bows. That being said, if early numbers are to be believed, Verglas Curve is by no means a terrible Exotic and can be slotted easily into most Stasis builds to further enhance them.

Like many Exotics in the game, especially seasonal ones, Verglas Curve comes with its own Catalyst and respective Catalyst quest. Is the grind worth it, however? For completionists, this guide will dive in to explain what the Verglas Curve Catalyst does and how it can be earned in Destiny 2.

How To Get The Verglas Curve Bow

Destiny 2 Seasonal Pass Verglas Curve Reward Tier

In Season of Defiance, the Verglas Curve Stasis bow can be acquired from the seasonal pass. Further down the line, it can be purchased at the Tower from the Monument to Lost Lights, but this will require a significant Glimmer investment, as well as an Exotic Cipher. In the free season pass, the Verglas Curve is unlocked at level 35, while the paid pass unlocks it for players immediately at level 1.

The Verglas Curve grants players Stasis arrows whenever they score kills with the bow. If the weapon is fired from the hip, all Stasis arrows are fired at once. Arrows will freeze their targets, as well as spawn Stasis crystals nearby when hitting the environment.

Destiny 2 Nock Draw Loose Quiet Exotic Quest Step 1

Once players have acquired the Verglas Curve Stasis bow, they can pick up the quest Nock, Draw, Loose, Quiet from Banshee-44, located in the Tower. The quest comes in three steps:

Step 1: Defeat targets with the bow and Stasis.

  • Rapidly defeat 20 targets.
  • Defeat 40 targets with Stasis final blows (this includes ability final blows).

Step 2: Use the Verglas Curve to defeat targets in playlist activities (Strikes, Gambit, Crucible, and seasonal activities).

  • Gather 200 calibration data.
  • Defeat targets (difficult content and PVP Guardian kills provide additional progress) until 100%.

Step 3: Return to Banshee-44.

Return to the Tower and speak with Banshee-44 in order to get the Verglas Curve Catalyst.

Upgrading The Catalyst

In order to slot in the Verglas Curve Catalyst, players will now have to upgrade it. The Verglas Curve Catalyst requires 700 targets to be defeated in order for it to unlock. Given that this is a primary weapon and players don't need to worry about missing ammo, this shouldn't be too difficult of a grind, even if it is tedious. Usual kill farming spots like Shuro-Chi, Grasp of Avarice's entrance and even the Altars of Sorrow work well for this.

What The Verglas Curve Catalyst Does

Destiny 2 Verglas Curve Catalyst Socket
  • Shiver Quiver: Gain increased draw speed for a short duration when freezing enemies.

Once the Catalyst is fully upgraded and slotted in, it provides a short draw time buff to the Verglas Curve whenever players freeze a target. It's not a gigantic buff, but given how sluggish Exotic bows tend to feel and how easy the Catalyst is to grind out, it's worth the extra effort in case bows and Stasis becomes more powerful in the future (and likely, it will, following the 3.0 subclass changes from last year).

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
