Bungie releases update 7.3.5.1 for Destiny 2, which fixes a number of issues related to the Crucible, the new Skimmer vehicle, as well as the Aurora Sacrifice armor ornament. Unfortunately for players, yesterday wasn't the smoothest during the weekly Destiny 2 reset. While the reset is set to refresh the rewards, challenges, and weekly activities, yesterday's deployment hit more than a few snags, resulting in extended downtime and maintenance on the servers which were taken offline, preventing players from logging in for a bit longer than usual.

Part of the rush to jump online is the second week of Guardian Games AllStars, as players attempt to finish off challenges, earn platinum rewards, as well as get in the top 10% of Nightfall scores to unlock a permanent version of the newly added Skimmer vehicle. While players get access to a temporary one during Guardian Games, there's a quest that can be completed through a variety of different methods to unlock a permanent version which will remain after the games come to a close in a couple of weeks. Even as players push the limits of what the skimmer can do, it seems Bungie has identified one bug which allows the vehicle to simply climb walls.

To deal with recently discovered issues, Bungie released update 7.3.5.1. During the Destiny 2 Weekly Reset. While the update did cause disruptions to the normal weekly procedure, the patch aimed to address a variety of bugs impacting the game currently. In terms of the Skimmer vehicle, it fixed a bug that could cause the game to crash when performing tricks. In addition, there was also a bug in the game which allowed players to essentially jump on the side of walls, which Bungie deemed as unintended functionality. The other big fix was made to the Aurora Sacrifice armor ornament for the Titan Hallowfire Heart exotic, which caused the environment to glow red while in third-person view.

In terms of activities, the update addressed two issues specific to the Crucible. The first fixed an issue with Glaives, which were only getting one round of special ammo. For those playing in the Guardian Games specific Supremacy game mode, this update also addressed an issue where it wasn't actually using the recent Destiny 2 Crucible sandbox updates introduced earlier in the month. The same issue was apparently happening inside of Private Matches as well.

While the wall bug fix may be a bummer for some players, many in the Destiny 2 community continue to test the limits of the Skimmer. With the ability to grind on elemental rails and performing skateboard-like tricks, players have been able to chain together these movements to float over large gaps in certain activities like the Prophecy Dungeon. Players have also discovered that Strand works particularly well with the skimmer, as using grapple on a moving board will essentially take the player along for the ride as well.
