It seems that Bungie accidentally uploaded a brand-new trailer for Destiny 2: The Final Shape, showing off more of the Pale Heart's strange look and feel. After plenty of rumors and speculation, Bungie finally pulled the curtain back on The Final Shape during its showcase event in August. Intended to be the last piece of the Light and Darkness saga for Destiny 2, Bungie revealed loads of new information including a trio of light based supers, new exotic weapons, and a ton more.
As expected, the expansion will prioritize the campaign, pushing players to deal with the threat of The Witness before It's too late and as part of that, players will be entering a new destination inside the Traveler called The Pale Heart. While also answering many of the questions that the Destiny series has asked over the years, The Pale Heart serves as a unique location in that it features warped and altered locations of familiar locations including the return of the original Destiny tower. It's clear that The Pale Heart will offer plenty of secrets and interesting sights, especially with what was shown in the latest leaked trailer.
The latest Destiny 2 leak was highlighted by X user CourtSoul, who posted the short trailer here. The footage highlights the Pale Heart destination inside of the Traveler, a location which twists and manifests based on the player's legacy and shown in the video, also features more than a few nods to familiar places. This includes the rounded tree known as The Cradle from Season of Arrivals, a massive stone Ghost seemingly carved into a mountain side, and a statue that oddly resembles Saint-14, perhaps commemorating the player's journey to free the legendary Titan by traveling through time during Season of Dawn.
Interestingly enough, CourtSoul indicates that the trailer was leaked internally from Bungie with someone accidentally posting it earlier than intended. While the video itself was set to private only a few minutes after going live, it was available long enough for fans to see and copy it for others. It's entirely possible that this trailer was intended to launch soon, and with it leaking out, Bungie could decide to release it even sooner now. Regardless, fans have been able to pour over the latest Destiny 2 details, pulling out some interesting sights from The Pale Heart.
Whatever the case may be, The Pale Heart will be following in the footsteps of some other destinations like The Dreaming City, in that it will evolve once the campaign has been completed. During the showcase, Design Lead Matt McConnell mentioned that the location will "open up" and will likely have more activities for the player to dig into once The Witness and its plot are foiled.
Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
