The Light and Dark saga began all the way back when Destiny was first released in September 2014. Now, with the release of The Final Shape imminent, this storyline in Destiny 2 is coming to a dramatic conclusion. But while it may be the end of this story arc, Destiny 2 and Destiny as a series are far from over. But before Echoes begins, the Witness has to be dealt with first.
Soon, players will be able to use the portal and enter the Pale Heart. But when will the servers go live so that players can stop the Witness before it alters reality according to its desires?
The Best Gaming Laptops For Destiny 2 The Final Shape
A guardian needs the right tools to keep the fight going. Here are some of the best gaming laptops to run Destiny 2's finale in all its glory.
When Does The Final Shape Launch?
To prepare the servers for launch of The Final Shape, Bungie took the servers offline for 25 hours for extended maintenance on Monday at 9 AM PDT (12 PM EDT). During this time, players will be able to pre-load The Final Shape so that they can be ready to play the moment servers go live.
Maintenance is expected to end on Tuesday at 10 AM PDT (1 PM EDT). At this time, Destiny 2 will become available and players will be able to start The Final Shape. It is important to emphasize that you should be prepared for maintenance to get extended due to unforeseen technical difficulties. While Lightfall was a fairly stable launch back in February 2023, it still took time for most players to get past the login queue.
Expect to have to wait anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour (or more) before being able to log in due to the number of players hitting the servers. With any luck, it won't be long before you can begin the campaign and start experimenting with the new Prismatic subclass. The raid will unlock on June 7th, giving players only three days to get their Power level to 1965.
When Does Echoes Launch?
Once the events of The Final Shape reach their conclusion, the first Episode, the replacement for Seasons, will start on June 11th at 10 AM PDT (1 PM EDT). While not many details have been released, Bungie did confirm that each Episode will run for three months, will consist of three Acts, and will add new activities, story missions, gear, and mods to the game. Even after the raid has been cleared, and the final mission has been beaten, players will have no shortage of new things to do in Destiny 2.
