While they don't offer much in terms of difficult endgame content, holiday events in Destiny 2 add some variety to the routine grind and god roll chasing. The summer event, Solstice, got little in terms of new content, but the weapons from Bonfire Bash did get a refreshed pool of traits that they can potentially drop with.
Something New is a Stasis Hand Cannon that has been around for a few years now, but even this weapon has gotten a refresh. If you are looking to add this weapon to your arsenal, here are the PvE and PvP god rolls for Something New.
Destiny 2: Perfect Paradox God Roll Guide
With a solid pool of perks, Perfect Paradox is one of the best shotguns a Guardian can have for Destiny 2's PvE modes.
How to Get Something New
Every weapon that is part of Solstice comes from the Bonfire Bash activity and Something New is no exception to this. Every time you complete this activity, you have a chance of getting one of four weapons that are part of this event. The amount of orbs thrown at the bonfire will determine how much loot you get at the end of Bonfire Bash. Aim for getting at least 20 orbs, as this results in getting four drops. This gives you a better chance at getting a god roll for Something New or any of the Solstice weapons.
Something New God Roll
Something New has an interesting variety of traits that it can drop with, and here is what they are.

Origin Traits:
- Dream Work: Assists or being assisted partially refill the weapon's magazine from reserves and increases reload speed.
- Nadir Focus: Sustained fire increases accuracy and range.
For both PvE and PvP there are some good combos for this weapon. In terms of PvP, To The Pain / Kill Clip is a great option. Alternatively, Snapshot Sights / Precision Instrument can work well together. Rapid Hit / Explosive Payload is a versatile roll since it is useful in both PvE and PvP. As far as the Origin Traits go, it is highly recommended that you choose Nadir Focus as it is significantly more useful in PvP.
Focusing on PvE, Rapid Hit / Explosive Payload works wonders, but Demolitionist / Frenzy is incredibly strong as well. Rapid Hit or Subsistence combined with Headstone is a strong set of traits to consider as well. So no matter what type of activity you'd take Something New into, there is a god roll for you.
