Exclusive loot is always a point of contention for fans between those who enjoy the grind and those who want access to everything. In season 3 of Destiny 2, Bungie introduced Redix's Claymore, a legendary rifle that only 9,000 players managed to acquire due to the time-consuming grind it required in the Competitive playlist. While fan's who missed out on Redix's Claymore will get a new opportunity to obtain a very similar gun once Forsaken launches, season 4 is bringing another opportunity to earn an exclusive weapon through the Crucible.
In this week's Destiny 2 blog post from Bungie, the security response team discussed the PvP side of the game for season 4. While Bungie hasn't officially revealed Luna's Howl as the season 4 Glory reward, the post may have let the cat out of the bag by confirming that access to Crucible pinnacle rewards like Redrix’s Claymore, Redrix’s Broadsword, and Luna’s Howl will be lost when players receive restrictions and bans. Since the post makes a point to lump those three guns together and label them as pinnacle rewards, it seems to all but confirms that fans will once again have a reason to grind to Fabled status through Glory ranking.

The posts main point is to outline how Bungie plans to make sure the grind is fair for all those who decide to purse Glory rank. The company has continued to improve its systems aimed at identifying players who may be tampering with their internet connection or possibly breaking the terms of service to gain an advantage. Starting on September 4, new restrictions and bans will be applied to player accounts that benefited from opponent disconnects at an abnormal frequency during season 3. Depending on the severity, players could not only lose access to Crucible rewards like the previously mentioned guns or Destiny 2 in full.
The gun was first noticed as part of the sandbox update live stream during the Crucible segment where it was used to essentially three tap an enemy. According to the community, Luna's Howl appears to be a gun worth grinding for thanks to its trait known as Magnificent Howl. Similar to the exotic scout rifle Polaris Lance, Magnificent Howl rewards massive damage on a third shot after hitting two precision shots on an enemy. Coupled with the fact that it's a 180 RPM hand cannon, Luna's Howl suddenly appears to be one of the stronger weapons in the game, and very lethal in the hands of a skilled player.
