  • A Destiny 2 player shareds a hilarious clip of themselves reviving a teammate repeatedly in Lake of Shadows Strike.
  • Bungie plans episodic content for Year 10, with Revenant and Heresy, and teases Year 11's Codename Frontiers.

A Destiny 2 player recently shared a clip that hilariously shows how getting revived by a teammate can become brutal. Destiny 2 is a popular co-op first-person shooter developed by Bungie, which offers both PvP and PvE gameplay. The game is quite famous for its challenging gameplay in Campaigns, Raids, Strikes, Crucibles, and other game modes.

Bungie released patch 8.0.0.6 for Destiny 2 in early July, which fixed several gameplay issues and made changes to a couple of Exotics. This patch nerfed items like Speaker's Sight, Red Death Reformed, and Khvostov because the community complained that they were overpowered. The update reduced the time required to extract hidden resources and made them more visible, which in turn improved the Breach Executable activity.

A Reddit user with the handle TheCaptainPlays recently posted a video that shows why reviving a teammate can sometimes be a bad idea. The video shows the player reviving their teammate six times, even when it seems clear that they will only die again for the same reason. In the gameplay video featuring Lake of Shadows in the Destiny 2 Strike playlist, the player's teammate gets killed by a Darkness Ball. The player revives their teammate and the latter dies again immediately, getting hit by the same Darkness Ball over and over. After five consecutive revives, the player times the sixth one perfectly, and the teammate finally survives and continues to play.

Destiny 2 Player Shows Their Loyalty to the Team

Commenters on the post found the video both hilarious and brutal, mentioning how unfortunate this incident was. Many of them were concernd because the teammate's PvE KD ratio would decrease badly because of so many deaths in one match. One commenter even said that they hope that the one who kept dying was a friend and not a random co-op teammate. Aside from Strike playlists and several other PvE modes, the Grandmaster Nightfalls are now back in Destiny 2. These are endgame activities known for their extreme difficulty, featuring enemies with significantly higher HP who can be killed with specific weapons and equipment.

The previous update 8.0.0.5 also brought back the Pathfinder system, which now allows players to fully complete paths through either PvE or PvP. Bungie also chose to move towards episodic content for Destiny 2 with the release of Echoes. After Echoes, the devs plan to release two more episodes called Revenant and Heresy as part of Year 10 content. The devs have also teased Year 11 of content with Codename Frontiers, which will release some time in 2025.

Destiny 2 might even explore beyond the solar system, as the devs have teased Codename Frontiers again in a recent interview, saying that they want to get back into expanding the worlds. This could point towards upcoming developments for the game, which will add new challenges and areas for players to explore. As Destiny 2 continues to develop, Bungie is doing a pretty good job at keeping the players invested and interested in the future of the game.
