Red Death is a famous Exotic Pulse Rifle from the original Destiny, so it's only fitting that the weapon comes back meaner than ever with the release of Destiny 2's latest expansion, The Final Shape. It's poetic to see such a chaotic and infamous gun make a return in Destiny 2, but how exactly can Guardians get their hands on the iconic returning Exotic, and what stats does it boast to make it worth their while?

Destiny 2: 5 Tips To Prepare For The Final Shape Raid

The Final Shape raid race is approaching fast for Destiny 2. Here's how every player can prepare for the challenge ahead.

Red Death Reformed brings back the Guardian killer, a weapon banned and even destroyed by the Vanguard for its evil potential and undeniable power in the lore. It will take everything to stop the Witness, so why not bring in the Red Death Reformed to save reality itself?

How To Get Red Death Reformed

red death reformed season pass

There are 2 ways that players can acquire the new Red Death in Destiny 2, but both of them involve progression through Destiny 2's Season Pass, which has been renamed Episode: Echoes. In the Echoes Season Pass, players can acquire Red Death Reformed immediately from Rank 1, if they have the premium track from the Season Pass. This premium track is available to players who have purchased The Final Shape Deluxe Edition, or to those who buy the Season Pass for 1,200 Silver, which requires a real-life purchase of at least $14.98.

If players do not want to purchase the Season Pass, then they can still acquire Red Death Reformed from the free track by reaching Rank 40. It might take a tad longer due to the lack of XP boost, but it's an extremely obtainable goal for those who want to remain on the free track.

Players will have from 4 June to 8 October to get Red Death Reformed from the Season Pass before it potentially joins the list of weapons made available at the Monument to Lost Light in The Tower.

How To Get Red Death Reformed Catalyst

  • Catalyst Description: Final blows charge this weapon. When the weapon is charged, the next final blow creates a healing burst at your location and leaves a remnant behind tha provides restoration to allies.

In order to get Red Death Reformed's Catalyst, players will need to reach Rank 145 in the Echoes Season Pass. This is an Act 2 reward that will be released on 15 July, and the Catalyst has its own requirements in order to complete it.

Once the Catalyst has been acquired, players must defeat targets with Red Death Reformed. Generally, 500 kills are required to unlock the Catalyst, and this is easily done through farming enemy encounters, like in the Shuro Chi section in The Last Wish Raid, or in the first checkpoint for Lightfall's Breakneck mission.

How To Get Red Death Reformed Ornament

On top of receiving the Exotic weapon and the Catalyst, players can also get their hands on a new Ornament to give the weapon a unique and exclusive style. In order to obtain the Old Blood Weapon Ornament, players must reach Rank 100 in the premium track of the Season Pass, so only players who have access to the paid version of the Season Pass can access this one, and it's a great look, as it's reminiscent of Red Death's old design from Destiny (2014).

The stats for Red Dead Reformed are already pretty impressive, and as a starting Exotic for The Final Shape, players are in for a treat. Not only is Red Death Reformed a positive choice for a Pulse Rifle, but that weapon type received a buff in The Final Shape, allowing players to do over 30% more damage in PvE activities, showcasing the potential as players venture into the expansion's story content on Normal or Legend difficulty.

Not only are the stats impressive, but players can also find these unique Weapon Perks and Intrinsic Traits that further cement Red Death Reformed as a powerful choice for Guardians in need of a weapon:
