How to Rank Up Master Rahool in Destiny 2

With the release of The Final Shape, Destiny 2 has gone through a few changes. One of the more notable aspects is a big change to Destiny 2’s cryptarch, Master Rahool, who has undergone a significant change since he first started decoding engrams for Guardians in Destiny 2’s release. Now, Master Rahool is a vendor with his own reputation that players need to increase if they are to seek reward.

Master Rahool requires vendor XP in order to increase his reputation, and in doing so, players will receive rank-up rewards to further their power gains and mastery over Exotics claimed and unclaimed. Yet, with no bounties to claim for Rahool, players will need to rely on Engrams, and here’s how to rank up Master Rahool’s reputation fast in Destiny 2.

How To Rank Up Master Rahool

There are a few layers to learning Master Rahool’s trade, and the first is to know just exactly how much XP is required to unlock his max rank and begin the process to prestige. Players will need a total amount of 6,000 XP to reach above Rank 16, which will enable them to unlock further rewards with Rahool, such as Exotic Ciphers and Tier 3 Decoding.

There are a few ways to get XP with Master Rahool, but all of them require Engrams. Players can find Prime Engrams through Pathfinder activities, and Exotic Engrams through random chance. With these Engrams, players can either decode them with Rahool or use Focusing activities. Listed below, is the XP amount players will earn for each Engram:

Prime Engram – 100 XP
Exotic Engram – 150 XP
Advanced Focusing – 250 XP
Trier 2 Focusing – 500 XP

Tier 2 Focusing is the most effective way to level up Master Rahool, but it is rather costly. To unlock Tier 2 Focusing, players will need Exotic Engrams, and with those Engrams, they will need to enter into Master Rahool’s vendor screen and select the Focused Decoding option under his Services tab.

Once on the Focused Decoding tab, players will want to head to the second page where they can use Precision Decryption. This is the most costly version of Decoding Exotic Engrams, but it’s the one that grants the most XP. Each Precision Decrpytion will cost 1 Exotic Engram, 60,000 Glimmer, and 2 Ascendant Shards. Whilst costly, this does provide players with 500 XP, which means that they only need to use Tier 2 Focusing 12 times in order to fully rank up Master Rahool.
