A Destiny 2 player has showcased a broken Titan Strand build which can be used in the Coil activity. This new activity was introduced in the ongoing Destiny 2 Season of the Wish, which brought back Riven in spirit form to help the Guardians pursue the Witness.
Destiny 2 currently has three Light subclasses and two darkness subclasses, where players can experiment with different builds based on their play style. Bungie also made a big change to the Light subclasses with the Light 3.0 updates that arrived with The Witch Queen DLC, which gave players more room to play around with their favorite builds. Since then, players have experimented with all kinds of “meta builds,” but Bungie has also been quick to nerf any builds that seemed overpowered. For instance, Bungie heavily nerfed Solar and Strand Titan subclasses in Destiny 2 Season of the Wish in a bid to balance them. However, The Coil has seemingly introduced a new broken Titan Strand build thanks to the activity-specific buffs.
In a post on the Destiny 2 subreddit, user KILL3RSNAK3 showcased how they could unleash unlimited powered melee projectiles towards the enemies in The Coil, while using the Titan Strand subclass. This was possible due to the Lethal Melee Recharge buff that players can purchase from Riven during Coil runs, which returns a moderate amount of melee energy upon getting final blows. However, the player discovered that the buff actually refunded melee energy upon just hitting the enemies, without having to kill them. One thing to note here is that the player was using the Wormgod Caress Exotic gauntlets, which grant stacking melee damage as the Burning Fists meter fills up, allowing them to melt enemies with ease.
Something else worth mentioning is how the player’s Titan character was able to survive the hordes of enemies while dealing constant damage. This was possible thanks to the Banner of War Titan Strand Aspect in Destiny 2, which gave them constant healing from melee kills. Paired with the Flechette Storm powered melee that launches Unraveling projectiles, the player was able to destroy everything in an instant.
Aside from this, Destiny 2’s annual Christmas event, The Dawning, is back with new recipes and loot. Additionally, The Dawning has also introduced its own Memento, following in the footsteps of Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost that introduced an all-black Memento. Players have also figured out a quick and easy way to farm Dawning Essence in the event, which could be a good incentive to jump right in and grab some new weapons and gear.
